SSJ2Engels wrote:Playarte's ''Dragon Ball vol. 2'', which contains episodes 4-6 of the original series. I brought it mainly because of the dub, which obviously isn't avaliable on any other release anywhere, but those DVDs also have the original title cards and textless OP/EDs, and also I believe the video quality isn't that inferior to that of the blue bricks (I have the DB Season 1 set ^^). So they're quite nice actually.

I may buy some of the other volumes later, probably in Christmas, when I have the money. After all, DBox 6 is on the way and it did cost me a lot.
What dub is that? Spanish? Portuguese?

Update on my Dragon Box. The disc holder for #25 was broken and the disc came loose during shipping. As a result the disc received several nasty scratches that kept the disc from being read. I filled out a return form with Amazon so UPS will be here tomorrow to pick it up. Hopefully it isn't too much of a turnaround time to get a replacement DBox.

Turns out Amazon's return policy is awesome. I filled out the return claim on Saturday. Not only did Amazon pay for shipping back to them, they even scheduled a UPS pick up for me. I didn't even have to attach a shipping label because the UPS driver brings that with him. So I packed up the damaged Dragon Box and left it on my porch this morning with a post it note telling the UPS driver that this was the item to be returned to amazon.com. When I got back from work today, not only was there a receipt sitting there confirming that UPS had picked up my return package, but there was also a brand new DBox 5 from Amazon. They had sent the new one out before I was even able to send the damaged one back to them!

It's the Brazilian Portuguese dub, which I am interested in because I am from there :D ,(althought I didn't see original DB in it's dub version as a child, only Z and GT). But even if I didn't grew up with it, I want to see how it's played out in those episodes, especially since I know some of these voices from Z/GT.

The video track for the dub version is absolutely terrible, through. Well, not really, it's not unwatchable, but it's in pretty poor quality regardless, and compared to the original Japanese version video source...well, let's say that ''glaringly noticable'' doesn't quite describe the difference. I suppose they have different video tracks for each because there is no uncut version of the dub? I dunno...

Anyways, since everyone is doing this, I was planning to post a pic of it, and did so, but then I edited the post and deleted it 'cause I didn't like it. Here is a better shot:

Oh well. Way too big. I don't know how to do this yet, so I will just leave it this way really.

Wow, Brazil got an official DVD release? I didn't know that. Can I buy that on some online shop that can ship internationally?

Yes, we did. A while ago actually (I think this particular DVD was launched in 2009/2010...?). However, it was 'cancelled' (braziliancoughversionoftheUUCcough) after vol. 6, and there are no more releases now. We got it up to episode 18 only. :( I think that the reason for that was poor fan reception (various complaints about the dub video track, horrible subtitles for original Japanese, 3-episodes-per-DVD, high price, etc), so I think they cancelled it because almost nobody actually bought them. Personally, I think it's a shame. We never had an official release of any of the TV series here, and this is better than nothing.

As for your question, yes, I think there is at least one shop that does ship it internationally, though I am not sure to your location specifically. It's the same shop I bought it from: http://www.cdpoint.com.br. Just click ''Int'l Orders'' below the shop's logo at the left of the homepage to see all the info you want about it. :)

They only have two volumes in stock, however (namely, #3 and #4). Vol. 2 dissapeared out of it right after it was shipped to me, I am almost sure. So I don't know when/if the others will get restocked. :(

I'm pretty sure other shops have ALL volumes as we're speaking (and had it since very long ago, as I'm aware), though, but I don't know if they ship internationally. I may look a bit onto that later, however...just a few I'm actually curious about myself.

Whatever I discover I tell ya. :)

Just bought this doujinshi. It's only the second fan comic I've ever seen with Vegetto in it ... I snapped it up. I had to.

That looks like an awesome doujinshi StarRot! Good find! I like how they have Tiencha on the cover as well as other what if fusions. And, is Vegetto cooking in that one panel?! Awesome!
