Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
Unless the menus are English by default in the Japanese version (which happens occasionally, sure), there are hardly ever options to view them into another language of your own native choice.
Rest assured that plenty of us will be importing the game when it comes out and will provide plenty of insight. Personally, I'll be doing a written review here on the site in addition to discussing it on the podcast.

If I managed to learn what and where everything in Jump Ultimate Stars was, I'm sure I could do the same for this game.

Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
I managed to learn how to play this game in a broken PSP emulator, and without any help from the Internet, so... I will survive with this game.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

At this point in 2013, playing through a Japanese fighting game isn't really that hard. Thanks to the internet, you can pretty get through any import game via translations/FAQS/and walkthroughs thanks to sites like GameFAQS and Youtube.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
What websites are you guys planning to import the game from?
Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
Play Asia, but I've heard that CD Japan and Ami Ami are good too.hulkty wrote:What websites are you guys planning to import the game from?
Sorry, I can't speak English very well, but I'm trying my best.

Just checked Play-Asia. Looks simple enough, but didn't have a release date or price on this game yet.Wobbuffet wrote:Play Asia, but I've heard that CD Japan and Ami Ami are good too.hulkty wrote:What websites are you guys planning to import the game from?

Since we're talking about importing...has anyone imported Battle Stadium D.O.N.?
Is it worth the money and easy to learn?

This game is going to take my import virginity. But I have played fully japanese games before... In fact, it was some random game compilation for the Game Boy Color that just so happened to have a Yu Yu Hakusho fighting game on it. As I said before, it was all in Japanese but it was pretty straight forward as well.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Well I'm definitely importing this game now Vegeta is confirmed!
Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
Does anyone else think we might get more creator-paired reveals?
Like Pegasus Seiya (Saint Seiya) and Ryuuji Takane (Ring ni Kakero) from Masami Kurumada, or Ikuro Hashizawa (Baoh) and one of the Jojos *Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanna, Joylne Kujo, Johnny Joestar, the Jojolion protagonist* (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) from Hirohiko Araki?
Saint Seiya and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure probably need no explanation, but Ring ni Kakero was Kurumada's first big hit in Jump (1977-1981), a boxing manga that helped Shonen Jump's growth, and eventually got both an anime (4 OVA series' from 2004-2011) and a sequel manga (2000-2009) in the 2000s (It was before Dr. Slump started the Jump Anime trend).
Meanwhile, Baoh wasn't quite the biggest hit...but Namco Bandai's already made the main character DLC for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, so why not?

I kinda wish, that there would be some female characters in this game, but yeah, wishful thinking.
Sasuke was a given, wondering who will also represent One Piece beside Luffy. Trafalga Law is probably a top candidate beside Strawhat crew.
Regarding fusion, don't think that they will do it, but if they do it, I will be pleasently surprised.

WOW! Vegeta looks terrible!

His eyes are a bit too narrow, but otherwise, nothing offends me with his CG model. I swear their models look very close to the Spike ones, just with different shaders/textures...

His hair just looks off like it's too long and his face doesn't look right to me either. When I look at it, I feel like it is a knock off like "oh yeah that's def Vegeta...but not quite."theoriginalbilis wrote:His eyes are a bit too narrow, but otherwise, nothing offends me with his CG model. It's the eye shape. They seem to be using Raging Blast/2 Vegeta instead of the corrected Ultimate Blast Vegeta (maybe to re-use animations?).
