Yeah points like that are just silly. No one's saying Goku should be completely removed from the story, but at least when he is involved have it actually mean something and not just have him there for the hell of it. He's involved in way too many fodder fights that last way longer than they should because he's holding back. Some of those fights could have been intense and meaningful for lesser characters, but they chose to have Goku screw around with them for an episode instead or in Hit vs Dyspo's case he turned an epic battle into a faceroll.TekTheNinja wrote:This doesn't add to the conversation in the slightest.TheZFighter wrote:Well unfortunately for all of you haters Goku is the man.Saitama isn't a good example for your cause, dude. I just can't excited at all for him. People say they liked him with Ultra Instinct but forget that the only good thing about it was the Ultra Instinct itself and not Goku. Anyone would have acted the same as him and he is just a host for the actual 'cool' bit.Abra kadabra wrote:He we are and everyone else is irrelevant except for Goku. Can't really say I'm surprised.

What I am basically saying is that the Ultra Instinct we have seen so far would have worked the exact same way no matter who had it.Simere wrote:Host? Goku was not the entertainment, Ultra Instinct was.
Re: I find Goku to be the worst character in this show
Maybe it's the fact that he's in our face non-stop 24/7 all the time in Super, but Goku has grown on me a lot. I was always a huge Gohan fan, way more than I was a Goku fan, but since Gohan has barely been in Super and when he has it's usually embarrassing to watch, I've grown more and more attached to Goku, despite the fact that his character is a downgrade from the one in Z.
I think the seriousness of Ultra Instinct is something that has been needed for a long, long time. Goku is too carefree, giddy, and happy in Super, and you really got to see that in the FT arc. Aside from his small rage boost after Zamasu told him how he killed his family (which was actually pretty poorly done, the dialogue was just as hammy as you could get) Goku was just... an idiot. Forgetting things, acting like a child more than he usually does, and his reaction to the devastation of Trunks' world is... nonexistent. Actually, he seemed pretty happy about the whole thing (although everyone else was too... what a weird ending!)
So now that he's displayed some seriousness which has been lacking for basically the entirety of Super, Goku is starting to feel like himself again. People are getting SSJ on Namek vibes for a good reason.

Goku doesn't even need help anymore. He powers up from fighting now. They may as well pull a Frieza, give him some energy and be on their merry way.

Goku was serious in the Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' retellings, and the Champa Saga had no real stakes. As for the Future Trunks Saga, although Goku has some childish moments, he was serious when Trunks returned in 49 and 48, and was dead serious against Black and Zamasu in 56-57. You also had him ready to save Gowasu in 59 when Beerus and Whis were watching events unfold. Then we had him serious all thought 61-67.Asura wrote:Maybe it's the fact that he's in our face non-stop 24/7 all the time in Super, but Goku has grown on me a lot. And Goku only forgot the Senzu. With the seal for the Evil Containment Wave, Roshi didn't give it to him despite Goku talking to him for several minutes before leaving.

He's too damn goofy in all of those arcs though. He has his serious moments but they're always outshined by the amount of goofiness and excitability that's over exaggerated in Super. He acts too much like a child.HeroR wrote:Goku was serious in the Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' retellings, and the Champa Saga had no real stakes. Goku forgot the senzu, the mafuba pot in the time machine, forgot what kissing is, forgot what Rosé was called right after hearing it, and I'd say it's half his fault for forgetting that the mafuba needs a seal and he never got one.

It's not only the transformation, his whole expression the way he moves etc changes, you directly get when in that state he means serious business lol

Agreed but why not see it the positive way aka while in UI mode Goku actually doesn't look like the village idiot he was in FTrunks arc lolnamekiansaiyan wrote: As I have said before no matter who had Ultra Instinct, they would have acted the same way
I mean seriously aren't there enough flaws in the show already to criticize the few aspects that actually make it worth watching cheers lol

But, Super has focused on other characters like Vegeta, Gohan, 17, Krillin,Trunks, even Freeza of all people. Goku may be the main character , but others have gotten more development than him. Super isn't the best, but don't say they didn't do anything for other characters.TekTheNinja wrote:Z focused on other characters. That sounds really silly. That's like saying SSJ Goku on Namek wasn't entertaining, it was just the SSJ part, no one was actually excited for Goku. Hell you could literally say this for any and every single transformation.namekiansaiyan wrote:What I am basically saying is that the Ultra Instinct we have seen so far would have worked the exact same way no matter who had it.Simere wrote:Host?
