That's another topic. How many people on DeviantArt would be viewing that topic? How many people might share that image, with Malik's signature now removed? The internet isn't just one place.
If that was his original character I would agree with you. But that's not the case.

I don't see him giving credit to Akira Toriyama for inventing this [Gine] character anywhere in that picture. Does it matter? No, not really. Does it matter if I make a different version of someone's fan-art, and change the colors, background, Gine's uniform, and the entire theme of the picture? I don't see why anyone should be bothered by this. BTW check my deviantart page again, I do admit that this is basically a copy of another person's work.
It's not something that has never been done before in fan-art / fan-fiction.

It's not his character, but giving credit to Toriyama, Shueisha or Toei is another problem entirely unto itself. It's still his drawing and you are altering it, I'm assuming without permission. Though Malik probably doesn't really care, it's the principle that matters.
I know this happens a lot, but that doesn't make it right. Fanart is a gray area, because the artist maintains the rights over their work but not the character, so there is very little to be done about it. But in a situation like this, when you are in the same community with the other person and it takes two seconds to talk with the other person, it's a show of disrespect. Admittedly, it's a bit of a different situation with an international franchise, where you have issues of "fair use" for the intellectual property. Again though, that's not the point.
You do kinda admit it's not yours, but the time stamps show that it's only after I said anything. If you want to change the stuff, then you should draw the whole thing again, yourself. If you don't have any advanced art skills, then trace it. But make it your work instead of your mediocre additions on top of someone else's hard work.

Not my point. There's nothing
in that picture that explains to the viewer "this is a copyrighted character invented by Akira Toriyama".

Really? You think that tracing someone else's work is much better than doing what I did? I don't try to hide the fact that my version of this picture is just a copy. In fact it's right there in the topic where he first posted it.

Tracing another person's art is no different than plagiarism. Why? Because it gives a dishonest artist / author plausible deniability. Tracing another person's work is
not "making it your own work". It's theft.

Yes, it is better. Tracing the image at least makes it so that the piece is drawn by your own hand and gives you the right to edit what you've drawn however you see fit, without permission. Just coloring over top of someone else's original image isn't really all that different than if you had took someone's original drawing in real life and "vandalized" it by scribbling on it yourself because you think that looks better. If you trace over it, you could both do whatever you want with it and the original artist's work isn't still literally a part of your image. It is a slightly different beast with the images being digital in instances like this, because the original image will always exist, but again, it's the principle.
Regardless of how you do things, you still need to credit the original artist to the best of your ability (and shouldn't remove a signature without permission). Always.

It doesn't matter what your point is. Dragon Ball New Age is one big project of Malik and the artworks are part of this project so him crediting the original author at the beginning of this project counts for the whole project. Just as Akira Toriyama himself does have "Akira Toriyama" written on his manga but not on every single page. Still it counts for every single page. And just as Malik was the one who has drawn every single page of his own manga that is based on the brand that is own by Akira Toriyama and Toei. That is law. Of course kanzenshuu already says that every Dragon Ball material is copyrighted by Akira Toriyama and Toei but here we have one new big project of someone else that also needs to be considered and respected.

When you are trying to prove someone wrong you need to have the facts on your side.
There's nothing in that picture that tells the viewer that this is a copyrighted character invented by another person (i.e. Akira Toriyama), there's no Dragon Ball New Age logo anywhere in that picture. Now what if someone saw that picture of Gine in a google image search? It doesn't necessarily mean that they will find a link to Dragon Ball New Age manga, or to his website, or to kanzenshuu just because they saw this picture. There is a "Malik Studios" logo on this picture which on its own doesn't explain very much to the viewer.
Who exactly is disrespecting Malik's work? Another person in that topic said
Love it, but this is for a Yugioh card frame, so it will need to be in color and have a nice background.
Malik didn't reply to him but I did. How is that disrespectful?

I hope you don't mean me with "trying" because then you are proving yourself to be the same kind of flashlight readers as most people. The facts were given. And it doesn't matter what your point is because law's power is greater and more important than what you think you can rightfully do with someone's intellectual and legal property. Just as what I think r everyone else. You don't own it intellectually and/or legally so any other point about legal and property issues has to take that into consideration. Malik's project is DBNA. DBNA as a whole credits Akira Toriyama. This picture is a part of the whole thing. Original Dragon Ball scans can be found over the internet, not a single one has "property of Akira Toriyama" written on it, as it is part of a manga that he owns. Those scans can also be found, still it is his own work with his copyright and finding the Gine picture alone will not mean it is not Malik's work. You don't need to copyright each single thing as long as the whole thing is copyrighted. And it is generally necessary, though not that bad if not done normally in the internet as long as it is not exaggerated, to at least state the source if it is not your own work.
And that other guy has the right to say something like that. He didn't claim anything to be his own or argue that he doesn't need to give credit, which you at least in a way imply. You can love whatever you want or even dislike it. Still when you use it you need to consider what is important as the respect needs to be official as that is how law works. If I write something, use quotes and everything, make it public and don't give the sources that can have bad consequences. This is about a simple picture, I am sure Malik doesn't mind but it all about the principles. And by the way, his logo is a way to show it is his work/he owns that artwork. Not knowing what it means does not mean you are free to do whatever you want with the picture.

Question: What's wrong with these pictures?
Answer: They were literally ripped off from the DB Minus manga, no credit was given to Akira Toriyama.
Question: What is different about
this picture?
Answer: This is a copy of someone's else's fan-art.

Technically its also not okay to make them public as if it is yours (I don't mean really you). It should be mentioned somewhere who did the original and this.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi wrote:"In this world, nothing perfect exists. It may be a cliche after all but it's the way things are. That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"
