To me it just seems more could have been done going by previous DB games when there is a sequel. Characters are fine that is one thing but missing important characters that is a fault on their end. I applaud they are doing something different for the story but ultimately the concept is the same. The new hub world is fantastic but if you just end up doing the same crap you were doing with the CaC already in XV1 in the end expanding it did nothing to improve the game. The camera needed better fixing and the fighting needed to be cleaned up (example of Super attacks hitting a character via invisible walls or because they are behind the character doing the attack). They have improved the game and like I said I'm sure it will be a fun game but look at the differences between B1 and B2 or Bt1 and Bt2. Its no surprise they did say those who played XV1 will feel that it will be familiar.

People are just dissapointed because there was all this talk about listening to feedback and submitting feedback and all that. To me it seems none of that was inplemented.
Spiky hair was a huge complaint. Not fixed.
Aura change was something people wanted. Not in.
Armour still has the tail wrapped around it. Not changed.
Trasformations outside of ssj still separate chatacters. Come on guys (and just give us base teen gohan damnit)
If its true, who decided time breakers deserve their own roster slots... yeah that wouldnt piss people off. Villianous mode with the infinity symbol. Wooo... really dumb decision roster speculation is such a huge thing for hype for these games any marketing team over the years should know that by now. Marketing was completely butchered outside the reveal imo.
The story seems like a rehash. Raditz again? But this time turles and slug are standing there at the end? Big deal. It looks like they're just retreading old ground. Even some of the cutscenes have been reused.
Those three top things are also really minor. A dev could spend two days working on that stuff and probably fix all of it and this game would have a much better reputation. We shall see what DLC and patches bring though.
The one inprovement to me is obviously the battle system which yes is the most important, but just like the show this game has more to offer than just fighting and people want to see that fully realised.
I think they wasted too much time on conton city when people probably wouldnt have cared if that was all replaced by a menu. It should just be part of the story mode.

I'd probably be a lot more interested if we weren't replaying the Z sagas again just a bit more different than the last time. Unless say Cooler showing up to team up with Freeza on Namek leads to some drastically different things, I can't see myself finishing the story mode. I know they feel they need to use Z as the basis but given the 10 billion games that adapt the Z stuff, I think we'll survive if get one with a completely original story to it.dualist wrote:Well they already said that the next game will get a longer development cycle which I hate to remind yall of because it probably better supports your argument.... I'm curious about what you mean with DMC4 though, that used MT Framework 1.3 and I don't think DMC3 used it.

Even barring that, the only one of them that tried to actual evolve the gameplay to the next level was Arkham Knight, even if it evolved to include such brilliant ideas as mother fucking tank stealth. The rest? Not so much.

Guess I'll just quote this again since it was the last post on the previous page...
Back to the roster, though, the only other person I'm hoping for is Chronoa on that last slot. I know it's unlikely, but... please tell me it's actually likely?![]()

I didn't say that, I hated them for various different reasons but I wouldn't use those as examples of how a good sequel advances the formula forward. Arkham Knight is the only one I'd say actually tried while all the others were literally the exact same thing from before or felt stripped down like ME3 and Halo 5 instead of advancements.Kanassa wrote: And? But the Dante in that game played the exact same as the one in DMC3, only difference is that he had new weapons. And yes it's true that DMC4 used a different engine, but...so is this game. Urk, now I remember what you mean with the Dante shit from 4, I especially loved how they made you replay all of Nero's levels just in reverse along with all of his boss fights except the statue and the bug guy.EXBadguy wrote:But the Dante in that game played the exact same as the one in DMC3, only difference is that he had new weapons. XV2 is using a new engine? Cause I can't tell at all, it looks like XV with just a little more polish. It certainly not a big leap in quality like say Arkham Knight was to Arkham City and those games used the exact same engine I believe.

This right here is another major reason of that. As someone whose major is Communication and looking into PR, saying things like that is basically setting the company up for failure. With games its better to show you listened to the feedback rather than say you are. Look at No Man's Sky for a recent example of bad PR and Marketing. It's these things here that have made people such as myself consider this game as XV1.5. I mean hell even Ultimate Tenkaichi got some of these things right and that game is like a book with a beautiful cover but crappy writing on the inside. Now I never developed a game so I can't say how easy or how quick things can be done but I can say we have patience to get some of these things changed as a fanbase so more of us can feel happy and confident about the product.nato25 wrote:People are just dissapointed because there was all this talk about listening to feedback and submitting feedback and all that. Right I have seen these new things they have in the game but if all of that in the end boils down to just us going to do PQs all over again then it really makes no difference what new stuff they put if you do it once or twice and never again.EXBadguy wrote:ekrolo2 wrote:

So why do we bother buying XV2 when the theoretical XV3 will be the best game ever and there'll be nothing wrong with it? In all seriousness, there probably isn't much reason to buy XV2 at full price from what I've seen of it thus far. If anyone wants to buy it upon release, and they certainly will, that's their choice, they better not pretend like it being an overpriced, underdeveloped expansion pack sold as a proper sequel is a surprise when all things point to it being one. Hell, there's an interview already saying that XV3 is where the real advancement is coming.

I know this wasn't directed at me but I mean that all comes down to personal choice. For example like I said I want to play as Goku Black and Future Gohan along with it being like XV1 which I enjoyed. Plus not buying it would be bad for the sake of XV3 because if there is no profit for this game then it can affect the outcome of XV3 even being finished.MatrixChap wrote:So why do we bother buying XV2 when the theoretical XV3 will be the best game ever and there'll be nothing wrong with it? Call me insane but couldn't they just take another 18 months off to just make this hypothetically awesome XV3 into a proper XV2 and just murder the unwanted, trouble making middle-man XV 2 (1.3) we're getting now?

Why are we even talking about XV3 when we could be talking about how this game can improve? It's too soon! How about we all just wait for the XV2 beta or something?

Everyone seems to misunderstand the Xenoverse 3 comment. He said they don't have any plans for it right now, because they want people to enjoy XV2 for a long time.
