Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I would say its an alternate timeline of the same universe and therefore exists in universe 7 (the mangaverse). As with the movies being in "different dimensions" and GT being a "side story" it could very well be the same thing.Barunks wrote:My problem with that is always if that were the case then where the hell does Future Trunks' alternate timeline fit exactly? Are parallel worlds actually a sub division of universe kind of like a galaxy? Does each timeline have their own unique diety a step down from a god of destruction that manages it? Seriously, I'm really confused.Herms wrote: They point out that Beerus doesn't describe the 12 universes as "parallel worlds", and that people are too influenced by Multiverse (...this guy is basically my Japanese counterpart...)

Marvel multiverse has things like what ifs ( what if spider man joined the fantastic four, captain america led everyone gainst the superhero registration, etc.)
Then it has different universes (like the ultimate marvel universe, or marvel cinematic universe etc.)
Considering future trunks timeline was the "original" timeline, I'd say that the "main" story can be considered a continuation of a what If story

A simplified explanation is that timelines≠universes.Barunks wrote:My problem with that is always if that were the case then where the hell does Future Trunks' alternate timeline fit exactly? Every alternate timeline is inside of an alternate version of that universe.

Alternate universes exist on their own with their own unique origin and their own unique inhabitants, while alternate time-lines branch off of each other and share the exact same past up until the point of time divergence in which alternate versions of everything are created. Sci-fi geek logic 101.

Marvel What-Ifs are all their own universe. There is no difference between "Alternate Timeline" and "Alternate Universe" in Marvel. They are all referred to as Earth ___, and are all treated as separate universes.Dbzk1999 wrote:I'd say to look at it like thisBarunks wrote:My problem with that is always if that were the case then where the hell does Future Trunks' alternate timeline fit exactly? I was using that to show the difference between how an alternate timeline would differentiate from an alternate universe
Timelines branch off from a decision
Universes are their own, seperate times

Using Marvel to prove that point is wrong, then, since there is no difference between alternate timelines and alternate universes in Marvel.Dbzk1999 wrote:Um I know?

There is a difference, actually. Some Earths, such as Earth-1610, exist on their own, while others, such as Earth-1191, are alternate time-lines that branch of off other Earths.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Using Marvel to prove that point is wrong, then, since there is no difference between alternate timelines and alternate universes in Marvel.Dbzk1999 wrote:Um I know?

They still fall under the category of alternate universes. Marvel doesn't differentiate between the two.UpFromTheSkies wrote:There is a difference, actually. That's true, but some exist on their own, while others are created from a time divergence and branch off of other universes, so there is a difference.Kamiccolo9 wrote: They still fall under the category of alternate universes.

Waaaaay off topic, but All-New Savage She-Hulk #1 pretty much says that all universes in the Marvel Multiverse were formed at some divergent point at "key nodes" on the timeline. The ones that are more radically different just branched off earlier.UpFromTheSkies wrote:That's true, but some exist on their own, while others are created from a time divergence and branch off of other universes, so there is a difference.Kamiccolo9 wrote: They still fall under the category of alternate universes.

ハー can either be Har or Her. Usually the first is more common.

VJump preview update!
So much kanji.
I can read the middle line though. "That character from". So, more plot info, I hope.
Help from more experienced translators is appreciated. ^^;

V-Jump is a monthly magazine released on the 21st of each month published by Shueisha (the same company who publishes Weekly Shonen Jump, which Dragon Ball was serialized in). It's ostensibly a video game-focused magazine, but because Shueisha puts it out, they're nice and incestuous and cover all of their other stuff going on. Since Dragon Ball is so huge (and, obviously, does have a bunch of video games both currently out and coming out in the future), they cover the upcoming movie(s) quite a bit when there is news to share.ssjjanemba wrote:I'm not sure what Vjump is but i hope we get a lot of info about the movie.
