Assuming the "Help me?" part is translated correctly, that makes sense now. "Help me? Go get some help yourself!" or something like that.

Or maybe Yamcha got under Eighteen's skin? Never thought he would try to go the "mindgame" root. :? Does not seem Yamchaesque unlike the last page. Still great work by GogetaJr on this page.

P.S. I do think the author could have chosen a less "adult" word for a shonen doujinshi. Then again, we have not entered crazy yaoi territory . . . yet. :| :x

"YOu even forgot your real name"

Yeah! I always found it a little harsh that her new family didn't give her a name other than #18. :P

Heh, judging by Eighteen's reaction in the last panel I doubt she wanted a new name. :P

In all seriousness though, we know next to nothing about Seventeen and Eighteen's past. I forget what it says in the Daizenshuu (if anything) but in the manga they do know they where normal humans before Gero turned them into cyborgs. At what age or how long ago is left ambivalent. :|

Would something like "You're a psycho" work?

While we're on the topic of insults what was the Japanese insult Gohan called Super Boo? I remember Mr.Simmons translated it as "retard" and that caused a little hubub on this forum.

Hm, given that this version of #18 is still wearing a Red Ribbon-branded shirt, I assume she's from a universe similar to Trunks' future, where the Artificial Humans remained evil and terrorized the planet?

Why is uub a coward? I'm an Uub fan and we know he takes on impossible odds without hesitation (at least in GT). Goku vs Vegetto could be good, also a possible Vegeta vs Cell. Cell seems very dangerous with his Saiyan cells and ability to improve much faster than Goku and Vegeta.

If Yamcha and Tien wished for youth, why didnt Krillin? i think he actually isn't Yamcha, but Yamcha jr. or Krillin is from the future and decided to stay in the past.

Does anyone think since they faced Babidi, one of the U9 fighters went Majin? The most likely candidate is Piccolo, with no Gohan to turn him completely good, Piccolo would be the Vegeta of the U9 Z fighters.

Krillin isnt a fusion with Roshi.
1. No earrings.
2. His name isnt "Roshillin" or Kriloshi"
3. His personality isnt lecherous, more cocky and wise. Roshi wasnt cocky.
4. By the time the earrings were discovered, wouldnt Yamcha be a more likely candidate? Unless Roshi wished for youth and continued to fight for Earth. Seems to me it would be like Goku fusing with Roshi.

@page 269 - Lol pretty funny. Yamcha flirting then dodging effortlessly. He acts like old krillin quite a bit. Tien is probably the serious one of the three. It didnt surprise me that U9 Yamcha owns.

For those thinking its almost over, we still have Bra, Namek, Zen Buu, the rest of the Kais, the rest of the tech Tuffle fighters, King Cold, Raditz, Prince Vegeta, both Gotenks, Neko Majin, Arale, Appule, Cui, Guldo, 16 and U9 Tien. i dont know who of those are staying to fight but most of them should.

What I'm really loving right now is that the comic is back to its roots and why we started reading it. ie not Broly fanwanking, but battles between alternate versions of characters we know in a tournament. But i love the battle with Buu in space too.

If there was ever another tournament, I want a universe where Kid Buu turns good and is the defender of Earth, or he rebels against Bibidi and decides he wants to be good. Not that i dont like Uub, but either one of them as defender of Earth without Goku around would own. Or at least have him be an anti hero (chaotic neutral, like zen Buu).

Salagir stated some stuff about Potarra earrings. "I decided this because it helps me on many parts of the scenarios, you'll see in good time."
....does that mean...POTARRA FUSIONS? Mainly universe 1 fusions (South and Grand Kai fusion would be godly) and maybe the birth of Yamchien and Trunkten...oh man that would be SWEET. Trunkten vs Gotenks ftw. especially if the U16 Gotenks becomes Trunkten to fight an enemy (Buu? IKL? Broly) instead but keeps the name Gotenks for the sake of filling that registered spot. Then we could have the next best thing to Vegetto vs Gogeta.

This page - awesome! I love yamcha's badass pose, and then his transition back into a Vegetto-like silliness. Lol 18 swearing. I remember Cell almost saying fuck when Dabura outmaneovered him. It seems Yamcha has fought androids and even maybe converted them to the good side. Yamcha's not a cyborg. Nothing suggests that.

Would something like "You're a psycho" work?
The problem is that, in English, we'd probably go with something along the lines of "Are you fucking crazy?", which is A) a question instead of a command and B) too strong of a swear. It also loses the "Help me?" play on words.

Maybe "Help me? You're the whackjob who should go get help!" would work better? Does that seem as aggressive as "Go to Hell!" and imply he should see a shrink?

The "strength" of the swear needs to be exactly identical to "Go to Hell!" (which is why most translators use just that as a translation) in tone, while telling him to seek psychiatric therapy because he's crazy, as well as use the word "go" or at least "get" in it.

Salagir said that using the 'f-bomb' was the closest thing he could think of that fit his intention, considering his lack of knowledge of English.

What's so wrong about the F-word? You say it, I say it, it probably has been said over a thousand times on this thread so, really, who cares? It gives 18 a more human side to her.
People and their "Oh no! DB and swearing = no no!!"

Guys, lighten up. I would love to see more swears being used in the damn comic!
(I just said the D-word on a DB forum! Oh NO!)

EDIT: I just read the post before mine and it seems there was no point to rant.... oh well.

It's a bit excessive and out of place. It just kind of came out of nowhere. Have even had an f-bomb dropped in this comic so far? Just wondering.

It's just that they don't talk like that in the actual manga so why should they in the fan made sequel? It's not the profanity that's the problem, it's the fact that it's just not how these characters talk. It's just out of character. It'd be like watching Goku solve a calculus equation in his head.

Here's a reverse example. Live Free or Die Hard. The PG-13 version and the Unrated version are pretty much identical. The difference? In the unrated version John McClane talks like John McClane. He's not the John McClane we know and love if he's not swearing like a sailor.

The one where the Vargas arrive and introduce the Multiverse tournament? Seeing all the villains back? That chapter?

She's a mass murdering android who gets angry quite a bit. I'm pretty sure she's said fuck before. Yeah Cell almost said it against Dabura. He said "Fuc-". Haha fuck is excessive but your totally fine with Pan getting her neck snapped....

Yes, she gets angry. But saying that at something so small as what Yamcha said? 18's temper doesn't swing that easily. It's all in the context. The situation didn't call for it, and there were other alternatives, as said by Dayspring, that would have fit just as well...making it excessive and out of place.

As for Pan getting her neck snapped, that's something that would happen in DB. It wasn't out of character for Bojack, and it helped thicken the plot.

I guess, but even when I go back and reread that scene now, it still disturbs me. #18 dropping an F-bomb on the other hand is something I can just shrug off as.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.
