Goku Black has no highlights in his design sheet, either. It's not really anything new. I also don't think it's a permanent decision, either. The shading guides are the most telling.

That said, Yamamuro is definitely getting better, if only a fraction. From the Future Trunks special to the latest DVD cover, you can see he's relearnt how to draw ears, and his compositions are a bit stronger (that magazine spread, aside).

There's hope for him yet. In all seriousness, if he could improve his "camera angles", I'd love to have him as an occasional key animator.

And some people still say Super is as bad as GT when it comes to handling other characters besides Goku. Yamcha didn't even talk in GT.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Daisuki's a real bitch today, so I can't fetch it in HD for you. I'll try to remember for later, though.

Why did Yamamuro have to decide to improve after he stopped working on episodes directly? lol.

Extremely optimistic and most likely untrue comment incoming :
Maybe he took a break from working on episodes to improve his style?

Wishful thinking. It could be a fluke, but also keep in mind that frontal shots are his forte. If he wanted to improve his style, his main point of focus should be channeled to his bland camera angles. The Japanese are much more private than us, it's entirely probable that we'll just never know why he's absent.

It's pretty good. I like it. Sometimes I prefer simple drawing than super detailed drawing
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me. :D

Does Naoki Tate adds this motion blur effect by himself when he's animating?

That's the photography department at work. They really love blur. A lot. It drives me absolutely mad.

Wanpack-only episodes don't get entries at the moment since there's rarely any consistency between their episodes. The animators change too often, and more often than not, someone else is correcting their output to the point where it doesn't resemble them anymore.

If an easy to spot pattern does arise and I can find them in previous episodes, then I'll go back and create entries, but at the moment, it feels a bit irresponsible to start saying anything 'official' about them.

I'll update it tomorrow for episode 69.

Two weeks ago i made this correction:
Image
I got rid of the shining effects, changed the skin colour to a lighter tone and also removed the highlights in the hair.

Also here's DBS Vegeta with the "Z-era-shading" (just for fun :T):
