Wait...I honestly don't remember here. Do the Kaioshin mention anything about Beerus not destroying anything at the end of Battle of Gods? Because if so, there's a minor hiccup with Beerus blowing up the planet that tried to poison him. =P

Yeah, I remember him saying something like that, thats why I was thinking the Beerus' part would be sometime before he went to sleep 39 years ago but then he mentioned the dream...
But maybe the Kaioshin was just counting Earth there...?
But then... the Kaios were all worried Beerus would be destroying and all, and after he left Earth they were all relieved...

Maybe that's a dub-only thing? Because i just checked and they don't say anything like that at all.

They're actually surprised that Beerus "the destroyer" spared Earth and keep wondering how they managed to avoid that.

If I remember correctly Toriyama wrote way more for Battle of Gods than could possibly be in a movie. What if this is just that? A long form version of that movie.

If it is a retelling, maybe Toriyama will get his wish of "the humans and Piccolo get actual battles against Beerus too" along with "everyone helps out Gokû fighting Beerus at the climax" that I read about that got cut for time.

And I'll get my wish of more ssjg Gokû.
Or even, Tate drawing key animation for ssjg Gokû. *u*
Or even a transformation sequence that actually shows him transforming instead of a (seemingly random) shot from far away and high up in the sky.


I, I want a new story (with Heavy!Beerus and Ms!Whis) but I wouldn't dislike a "here's what BOG would be like if it were paced like a TV show instead of a movie". >_>

A few more details:

Goten's off from school (since it's Sunday), and has brought his dad some bento. Goku has Goten drive the tractor while he eats the bento. Once it's finished, he turns into a Super Saiyan, then closes his eyes and imagines fighting Freeza/Cell/Pure Boo. While he does this, Goten drives off a cliff...so Goku saves Goten and the tractor (the tractor he throws back up to the top of the cliff). Goku says he's training in case someone strong like Boo ever turns up, but Chi Chi wants him to work (cue "mom's the real strongest in the universe" joke from Goten). Goten says grandpa Gyuumao is out of money, but Chi Chi thinks Goku ought to be able to get a job that would earn some money, like Mister Satan. Goku says he just likes to train.

And who should show up at that moment but Mister Satan himself (speak of the devil)? He wants Goku to have the 100 million zenny peace prize he received for beating Boo, since he doesn't feel he deserves it. Goku has to have it explained to him that 100 million zenny is 100,000 zenny one thousand times over. This freaks Goku out, and he doesn't want such an insane amount of money. Then of course he agrees when Goten points out that with the money, he wouldn't have to work and could just go to Kaio's to train.

With the Beerus/Whis stuff...I think I already covered everything. Beerus isn't terribly upset that the aliens try and kill him with poison (he mostly just thinks they're stupid for believing poison would work on him). Yet he still destroys their planet anyway, something he matter-of-factly announces ahead of time after trying their "Soup Yasai Jinkot"(the aliens then try and shoot him, but obviously that doesn't work either).

Okay, I love this. Nice to see Goku having a moment with his son.

A re-telling certainly does leave more room for the other characters. Hopefully there's some nice new fight scenes at the climax of the first story arc.

I don't mind redoing BOG if it turns out better than the first time.


EDIT: Now I also need Gokû's "spying on Vegeta's bingo dance" scene that's only mentioned in the movie and illustrated in one of the Heroes manga chapters. (It was the best worst disguise; he was sneaking around hiding behind shrubbery and holding tiny tree-branches with barely any leaves on them).

I don't mind redoing BOG if it turns out better than the first time.

Dialogue scenes will probably be framed much better, unless an absolutely horrible director comes along. Ueda Yoshihiro and Hosoda Mamoru have been two of the worst directors on Toei Animation series lately, specifically One Piece. Both are veterans of Dragon Ball, but with any luck they won't work on Dragon Ball Super and Chioka can push episode directors in a direction he wants, like with Hakaba Kitarou. Kakudou Hiroyuki has been on a roll with his World Trigger storyboards. His storyboard and directing for Hakaba Kitarou Episode #2 was also really good, so I'm hoping he can participate, too.

Getting to see Goten doing stuff by himself is kinda neat; shows he's not just Trunks' sounding board. :3
I'm so used to Gohan interacting with Gokû, interesting to see it with Goten.

I'm glad to hear there will be some Goten/Goku moments in the first episode I hope it carries farther than a couple of episodes. I'm glad to hear Goten is going to school, hope we get to see some Trunks/Goten school moments as well. the thought of Vegeta driving trunks to school is too much to pass up.

Also funny to hear that goten sorta, i don't want to say trick but he kinda does, Goku into taking Mr.Satans savior money. Also glad to know Satan has enough class to give Goku the money.

I have been pretty foulmouthed these days, only because I've been on an amotional roller coaster, I'm slowly recovering, Toriyama is shaking the heck out of me right now. I'm loving that first episode resume. Specially the Goten/Goku stuff. And of course, Beerus doing some good destruction. He never got to destroy anything in the movies!

Goten seems to be an important character in episode 1 or chapter 1. . Hell fucking yeah. Goten goes to school!? Holy shit! Yes! I want school adventure from Goten ASAP. Imagine seeing his first crush. So excited! Aww Goten helping his daddy work. Goku such a good father to Goten. These two have good chemistry. Who doesn't have chemistry with Goten. You can put him in a scene with anyone and it's fucking magic.

Can't wait to see this now. Show haven't even started and Goten already stole the show.

It's funny how, although subtle, Goten could be very observant and a pretty fast thinker (despite the anime trying to make him more naive than he should be). I hope Super uses him well..

I wonder if Gokuu and Goten interacting was actually Toriyama's idea. It seems almost unlike him to write such a scene, yet at the same time it is novel considering just how little Gokuu and Goten ever interacted. I bet Lemmy will love this.

In the extended battle of gods, he destroyed several planets after eating Wasabi.
