It's gonna be great seeing Roshi ignore Caway's seduction attempts and straight up Mafuba her instead

Who wants to bet that Frost will be the one to DQ him?
Frost eliminating U7 members outta nowhere would make for a great running gag

He better not knock out Roshi if he does I doubt Frost will last much longer.Xeogran wrote:Who wants to bet that Frost will be the one to DQ him?

Recently the image which mentions why different fighters didn't participate, also mentioned Krillin's dq, and nowhere was forst mentioned.. It was just written he fell off the stage..Xeogran wrote:Who wants to bet that Frost will be the one to DQ him?

This makes me think frost eliminating Krillin was a toie addition and him not fighting 18 was the direct result of that, he wasn't supposed to be there..
Considering this, if nothing is mentioned on who eliminates whome for certain characters, it's always good to make frost do all that

Dragon Ball Super will finally have its own TV Special but it might be a crossover with One Piece? Well, not interested if so. There's so many stories to be told in a TV Special for Dragon Ball...
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Gosh. While I'm excited about this week, I'm dreading seeing what they'll do with Roshi. Yeah I get people are "excited" about his return, but it was pretty clear he peaked halfway through dragon ball. Now we have to pretend like he's been "training" all these years and is now able to fight other fighters in different universes. Despite not standing a chance against King Piccolo. Ugh
Now that I've voiced my opinion, bring on the haters who think I'm a power level freak for pointing out something silly.

I found it more hilarious that you ever thought there is something as 'peak' in dragonball,a show which is about breaking your limits.TheOne wrote:Gosh. Aren't the specials suppose to happen over a 2 week period. I don't think they would make a 2 hour crossover special, I could be wrong tho.
I think it will be 2 seperate specials airing over a 2 week period like this:
1st week 1 Hour DB Special (OP won't air)
2nd week 1 Hour OP Special (DB won't air)

Didn't realise it was gonna take over the 9-10am slot thought it was gonna air at another time. In that case it really isn't an hour then ~40mins similar to the Z ones. As long as it is not a crossover I'm cool.Yedis wrote:Aren't the specials suppose to happen over a 2 week period. I don't think they would make a 2 hour crossover special, I could be wrong tho.

I invite you to go back and watch dragon ball. Roshi made it clear that his time was up and that these new fighters were going to surpass him. And they did. There's no way Roshi would've stood a chance against Raditz. Let alone Nappa. Now hes supposedly going to put in work on some of the strongest fighters in the universe.Whatever wrote:I found it more hilarious that you ever thought there is something as 'peak' in dragonball,a show which is about breaking your limits.TheOne wrote:Gosh. Tien has grown very strong since his dragon ball days. Enough to surpass the ginyu force. You remember how strong they were, right? Fast forward X amount of years to the present. Tien is constantly training. The only human to do so. And now Roshi is all of a sudden able to put Tien on the defensive when he couldn't even beat Nappa or the Ginyu Force?
Don't come at me like what I'm saying is illogical. I was hesitant to even respond to your post. Roshi DID peak. If you really didn't see that in Dragon Ball and Z, then I'm wasting my time even talking to you about it.

Roshi's time was up in Dragon Ball, and the narrative reflected that. He was finished in Dragon Ball, and didn't do anything in Z.

Only the logical fans get it. Even if Roshi picked up training say after ROF. No way he could catch up with krillin,Tien or base Goku lol.TheOne wrote:I invite you to go back and watch dragon ball. Roshi wasnt even stronger than Korin or Popo. Lol. Tien has trained with Korin,Kami/Popo, King Kai/10× gravity. Have fought and survived the most powerful foes of U7. Roshi has done no fighting. Cant possibly reach SS3 status on his own training alone.
I'm glad Toshio clarified the witchcraft buff he got in episode 89. I also am happy hes in the tournament. I like Yamcha. But Roshi has added more interesting layers. We all suspected the shock flash attack would be vital when he was first announced. And the Mafuba. Both attacks work on characters stronger than him. And it seems he will be close to death in episode 105 in order to win. Hint at Mafuba
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I watched OG DB and yes Roshi was and still is all about letting the newer generation take over. But you are pretending like there was some kind of barrier that prevented him from becoming stronger. When such thing never existed in and out of universe outside of Toriyama not wanting to use him at the time the manga was running from a specific point and onward.TheOne wrote:I invite you to go back and watch dragon ball. In fact in the saiyan and cell saga,Roshi stated in numerous occasions that he wanted to be more of help but could not due to his current power.Him becoming stronger because he wants to help when he can and him letting the new generation take over do not contradict each other.
If you do not even understand that the reason Roshi was not used in dbz was because of the writer's intent at that period instead of a magical barrier you call peak then i don't think we have been watching the same show. The same thing goes for a lot of other characters that fell behind like 17,Freeza,Gohan and a lot of more.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
A Dragon Ball TV special sound very promising. But I'm also hoping that it's not another crossover with One Piece like in the past. I would really like the 1 hour TV special to focus on developing the other universes in the Tournament Of Power. Or perhaps it's be an adaptation of Toyotaro's rendition of the events of the Universe 6/7 tournament.
Also really hyped to see what Roshi can deliver.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm not pretending there was a barrier, there WAS a barrier. The first barrier was an unspoken barrier of how strong humans get compared to aliens/androids. It wasn't imaginary, it was literally how they did things. Don't know why, but that's what was established. The second is the barrier for Roshi in General. How do you not see that Roshi was retired? It took his entire life to get to that point of strength in Dragon Ball. Now he's making 10,000 times the amount of gains he ever did. Just from "training on the side". His pupils were growing at astonishing rates. By the end of dragon ball, all his students essentially surpassed him. Keep in mind Roshi was still active in Dragon Ball, so it's not like he was just a spectator throughout. He could NOT keep up with his students. His time was up.Whatever wrote:I watched OG DB and yes Roshi was and still is all about letting the newer generation take over. But you are pretending like there was some kind of barrier that prevented him from becoming stronger. When such thing never existed in and out of universe outside of Toriyama not wanting to use him at the time the manga was running from a specific point and onward.TheOne wrote:I invite you to go back and watch dragon ball. So you're saying just because Roshi said that he wanted to help out on multiple occasions, that means he was capable of getting stronger..? You're reaching for straws if that's your defense. If there were any real gains he could've made, he would've done them. But he knew he was useless. They established that he was a side character and nothing he can contribute to the fights anymore. Now all of a sudden he's made gains that took the rest of all of Z fighters (who are In their prime) just to keep him irrelevant. I can't count how many times I've watched the entire series through. There are some things that you just know and certain things are established.
If I hadn't seen some of your previous posts, id think you were some unreseasonable fan who would defend Toei no matter what. But I've seen you post things that make more sense than a lot of the things I see on here. I just can't agree about Roshi.

A crossover with One Piece would be lame beyond belief. Dragon Ball Super is already plenty popular and doesn't need One Piece to help out. It'd also be lazy as hell. I was just wondering the other day why they haven't done another movie or TV Special when its been over 2 years since the show started.
Zamasu is the best DB villain besides Freeza (and this is only the case because the current Super arc elevated Freeza to be that good).
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
It's 99% sure that is a stupid crossover.

Whatever it is, this special could be our breather episode(s) after the end of the tournament like the Dr. Slump crossover or the baseball episode. It would be weird to interrupt the late stages of the tournament for something that might not be related. Especially if it's a OP crossover.
