Well, when Super first started the Black Arc, I had plans to have Zamasu and Black fuse and get sealed by the Mafuba, but that ended up happening in Super so I can't do that now. :/

If I were to rewrite the Zamasu arc, I'd likely have the ending similar to the following:
[spoiler]Goku learns the Mafuba after the loss to SSJR Black and Future Zamasu (#57).
Gowasu and Kaiōshin arrive in the future shortly after Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks.
Trunks achieves the Pseudo SSJB form out of rage as a one-time occurrence.
Trunks manages to overpower Black, followed by Goku and Vegeta returning to the fight.
Black and Zamasu fuse using the Potara, becoming Merged Zamasu.
Merged Zamasu overpowers Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks.
Vegeta and Trunks (now in Base) fuse using Gowasu's Potara, becoming Vegeks.
Vegeks backs Merged Zamasu into a corner after a fairly lengthy fight.
Goku seals Merged Zamasu away with the Mafuba.
Vegeks defuses either with the Potara time limit or with the Dragon Balls.[/spoiler]

So, here's a rundown of some ideas I've nailed down for the Black arc remaster:

- Black isn't from the main timeline though various comments he makes earlier on have the characters assume he is and act on it: he's from the unseen timeline where many things happened similarly but different.
- The difference between Black and Zamasu is more pronounced and elaborated upon. Black, when he was still Zamasu, was intrigued by humans and investigated them on his own, judging them as vile beings after witnessing their various atrocities but opting to remain silent about it until the U6 tournament footage puts Goku in his crosshairs.
- Future Zamasu witnessed and interacted with mortals under Gowasu's guidance and felt pity for them, he could see their great potential but also their self-destructive impulses. He secretly tried to teach the people of the Babari planet in philosophy and other arts to help them peacefully develop. But things would go badly and the Babari would use Zamasu's learnings for evil and this would eventually lead to their premature extinction. During this, Zamasu would try different approaches: diplomat, philosopher, dictator, anything to save them but it would all fail, leaving him guilt ridden and disappointed in mortals.
- This distinction between how they met mortals is a byproduct of the time travel butterfly effect subtly altering events, thus putting the blame on the two Future Trunks' who altered history for their own selfish desires.
- Black is essentially the devil when he meets with his alternate self, he'd be the one to goad his future counterpart into his zero mortals plan after proving to him mortals, for all their potential, cannot be saved and they'll drag everything down to hell with them.
- Black uses the Super DB button to assemble them and has his future counterpart gain true immortality. He refrains from doing this for himself since he needs the threat of death & injury to master Goku's power. The two begin by killing the Kai's.
- Where Zamasu does these killings of Kai's and mortals as quickly, efficiently and painlessly so as not to make sure mortals and nature suffer too much, Black is far more vicious and prone to giving way to his Saiyan instincts and he's far less bothered by sacrificing the universes natural beauty or resorting to barbarism. This is why he picks his calmer self as a partner: he's acting as Black's conscience and leash.
- There'd be a small arc where Black would purposefully target the fighters of U6 so he can gain better control of Goku's power, eventually unlocking a mutated Super Saiyan form during a bloody fight with Hit.
- Future Trunks and 16 would be partners in the future and would lead a school meant to train people how to use Ki before Black arrives.
- Gohan & Piccolo would train at Whis' temple while Whis himself creates a dimension similar to Earth's ROSAT where Goku and Vegeta are surrounded by Godly Ki, this is so they can fully master Blue and remove its big manga flaw before moving to raise their overall power.
- Gowasu would be the Dai Kaioshin and only Kaioshin of U10, the trees responsible for growing his species there haven't yielded fruit in many, many years and the other Kaioshin died from old age. Zamasu is the first new Kai in U10 in many, many generations.
- When the Dai Kaioshin dies, both his G.O.D. and attendants die with him.
- Gohan wouldn't get God or Blue, he'd instead get a God Ki amped version of his Ultimate State since Old Kai's ritual fundamentally altered how Gohan's powers work. Piccolo would get the Red-Eye Namekian state.

Not sure how you're planning to do the ending, but if you intend to keep it more-or-less the same, since you seem so keen in utilizing the leftover timelines, you could have Trunks and Mai travel to Cell's timeline when all's said and done.

I'm using LightBing's version where the good guys die then Zeno reverts everything to when Black & Zamasu fuse. I am having Earth be the last planet with sentient life so I could have Mai, Trunks and the remaining survivors of Earth use the time machines one last time to get to Cell's history like you suggest.

If Goku were to time his IT to the exact moment that Hit activated his timeskip, what would Hit see? Would he not be able to find Goku? Would Goku already be behind him?

They actually did add Goku Black, I think they call him Black G. or something, that's why Zamasu being excluded is weird for me.

For my fanfic, I have various henchmen of the main villain from various points in history, but I'm trying to stay in the Toriyama style of deadly, but wacky. What do you think of these villain concepts:
[spoiler]A bright and flashy shark-man, small time crime lord turned demonically empowered predator. Dresses in bright green clothing and spends his time ruthlessly tormenting his opponents, while stuck with the insatiable need to dance.

A Saiyan War Hero (Plenty of Planets conquered), taken from her time where she suffered from a deadly and incurable disease that is slowly rotting away her insides (Displayed by her skin cracking and body falling to pieces throughout the arc). Her final goal is to do everything in her power to push the last remaining Saiyans to there limits as some sort of test. Seeking an answer to the fate of the Saiyan race. Shall they die with her, pathetically withering to dust in a bed like pathetic worms? Or live on through her demise on the battlefield?

A duo of fallen Kais, one a Supreme Kai of universe 6, the other the Supreme Kai of one of the universes destroyed during the Omni-King's tantrum. They act like close siblings who came together to plan the Omni-King's demise. A deadly team of a sorcerer who takes on a more jester-like appearance, taking down his opponents through devastating gags (Such as a pie themed version of Hercule's ''I have a present for you!'' and literally turning his opponents into dolls), and an axe wielding rhymer.

A Frieza Race soldier who wished for more noble intentions, situated in universe 6 this man grew ashamed of his heritage thanks to the reveal of Frost as yet another mud to dirt his race's reputation. He intends to rectify this through abusing time travel to give his race a fresh start, a second chance to become protectors rather then born tyrants, starting by removing the all mighty monster that sits as the Omni-King.

A broken demon, lost between time itself and trapped with his mistakes for many centuries. Imprisoned there by Beerus after attempting to free his fellow demons from the Demon Realm, believing that his people should be allowed to roam free throughout the multiverse (Beerus would of just exploded the guy, but he was already late for his afternoon nap). In his prison, he was able to watch the history of various universes, including that of Universe 7, which allowed him to increase his power, plot his revenge... and self teach himself how to bake. A skill that became his secondary obsession by the time he achieved his freedom. His followers receive free brownies every time they perform well, and injecting baking related puns into his taunts.[/spoiler]

Their names undecided, but they'd all be based on some sort of decay/rot/taint pun.

I think some of these guys can very easily hold on entire arcs or stories on their own, like the two Kai's looking to kill the Omni-King or the Freeza Race soldier who wants to abuse time travel to "fix" his species. I am bit iffy on the Saiyan War Hero, it sounds like you're doing some Darth Sion-esque stuff with her body falling apart but if she thinks she's the last Saiyan, then how is she pushing other Saiyan's to the test?

Or is it that she doesn't consider the other members of her race "true" Saiyan's until they prove themselves her betters in martial might?

Well, they're all supposed to be henchmen of the two Kai's, all taken from the points in time where they were supposed to die. Then offered the possibilities of time travel and a worthy cause (Though the Shark and Saiyan are certainly the ones who think of themselves less noble in their goals)

And since this is Trunks future, there ain't no such thing as peace for long. By the will of two fallen Supreme Kais, a chain reaction of disaster in space and time is triggered, causing distortions across the entire multiverse.

The general jist is Trunks pulling together his own Z-Warriors to combat the new threat, and learning the indirect consequences of him using the time machine.[/spoiler]

This is pretty much what I'd want out of a Trunks spin off that uses the new God stuff without just sending him back into the past for Goku & Vegeta to help him out or using the time patrol.

Well, the Supreme Kai of Time is present... She's just not the Supreme Kai of Time yet. Though there's no time patrol in this.

(One of the translations of the word "shimi" is taint. no steal pls) Though Shimi never accepted that she was going to die from that disease, and actually managed to find a way to "cure" the incurable... I'm not going to go into how, because that's major spoilers. Shimi isn't a saiyan, by the way.[/spoiler]
