It does have Gohan's Mystic like aura from games, so I also am inclined to believe it's a mixture of the best..

Though it can go both ways, maybe it's so badass because it's Gohan inspired.. Base check, God level strength check, Blue aura check, 4's spiky black hair which supposedly this new form has check..
Yeah it's all Gohan, that's explains the pure awesomeness..

Well considering their 'strongest fighter' got kicked off the arena by Cabba a long time ago and he's got more 'informed abilities' than anyone else in this show, they're already pretty much useless statues
Lord Frieza wrote:I do see where people get the ss4 vib. It's the eyes, but think it's more insperastion then hint of the future.
The form is a mix of base, God, Blue and 4 all blended into one subtle form. Well that's how I see it anyway.
A blend of the strongest in terms of inspiration.
I think it's the angle, pose and expression. One of the stock drawings of SS4 Goku has him posed similarly. This isn't quite right but it's the closest one I had on hand:

If it is based on Gohan's form then Goku is doomed.

Hey, at least he looks good now, which is what it's all about, which a namekian friend of mine seems to agree with as well

Because mostly, power boost are completely plot dependent without any logic whatsoever..
That is the problem it is always mainly cosmetic.

Everything and anything looks good on Goku. So far from what we've seen of the form I can't see this working (as in look good) on anyone else.
Looks like Roshi will really struggle to keep it in!
Why power levels are important?
Spoiler:
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
Dammit Roshi! I thought you conquered your perverted nature. Now you could get eliminated for it.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Ep. 105 might end up being a real chore for me. Was never a fan of this side of Roshi's character, and was really happy when they toned it down in later arcs. Hope I won't cringe too much.
While I like that Roshi is going to be eliminated like that, I kinda expected him to last a bit more. Krillin going down first was kinda unexpected, I don't want Tien and Roshi being eliminated so soon.
Can't understand at all how the new form relates to SS4, but the amount of people trying to "make GT cannon!" is surprisingly high, despite the huge nonsense of the idea.

Just like I expect episode 104 to be one of the best episodes in the Tournament, I expect this one to be one of the worst. I'm tired of Roshi and it was obvious sooner of later this would happen, because that's who he is. Hype 0.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota
Roshi just looks surprised mid attack at a very vulgar display..
I am sure he will eliminate her with Mafuba and end up getting going down next as well, probably jumping out himself if he understands he can't fight any longer

The preview for episode 105 said the tournament is entering its middle stage so what does that mean? Do they mean the number of fighters left or episodes?

That probably means tournament early stages are over and mid tier fighters are about to go next..
Surprisingly piccolo didn't go down with the low tiers, sticking with gohan really helped him survive..
