I suspect this may be the case as well. From official gameplay videos, trailers, to captured footage, we've heard a mix of newly-composed music and recycled music from past games inserted into BoZ. The Japanese release will most likely use the Kikuchi score as per the norm though.TheGmGoken wrote:Perhaps the game will have scores from the past and new scores as well.

Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I'm still debating whether to get this for the PS3 or the VITA. The VITA version will probably be cheaper, and I did just get one on Blck Friday. Plus I can play it on the go, I mean the ps3 has enough DBZ games already. Then again with the PS3 I can play it on the big screen...but there's no local multiplayer so maybe i'm better off with the VITA?
What do you guys think is the better choice? Which version are you guys getting?

There's cross-play isn't there? If that's the case, sounds like Vita would be your best bet.PhoenixEX wrote:I'm still debating whether to get this for the PS3 or the VITA. You'd be better off with the PS3 version considering that'll be the better package, i.e, complete release and the Vita's most likely to be the inferior one. There's the advantage of playing it on the go but that also depends how long you travel.PhoenixEX wrote:I'm still debating whether to get this for the PS3 or the VITA. Now about cross-play if there is that's still to be revealed because the UK DBZ BOZ Vita covers don't mention it anywhere, nor do the retailers who have it for pre-order. America will also have the game but only in digital format so that'll suck for those who prefer physical copies in US.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
Because they will. As I mention before, the kids now will likely grow up on the PS3 and 360 games. I hate to sound old, I doubt most of them played the PS2 games since they were not born yet or were too young to play them. People from different generations have different nostalgia. I see people who have nostalgia for Yu-Gi-Oh GX when I don't because I was in my sophomore year of High School when it came out in the US and by then, I grew out of the franchise.JeffJarrett wrote:You're telling the new generation will say Battle of Z was a great game in a few years, I'm telling you why...TheGmGoken wrote:I'm confused about your post. Clearly the solution is to wait for SCEA to release the Vita TV in North America, and buy that for $100 so you can play the game on the go, and on the big screen.PhoenixEX wrote:I'm still debating whether to get this for the PS3 or the VITA. The game supports Cross Save with PS3, but obviously that's only good for those interested in buying the game on both platforms. Artdink, and Namco Bandai haven't shared Cross Play plans, which is disappointing given the game's focus on large scale multiplayer battles. I'm not certain that Vita's userbase alone will be able to create a good online community, especially given the fact that it's a DD-only release in North America.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Another update with the original Kikuchi synthesised score: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=72 ... =2&theater
I do wish Namco Bandai would have some respect for the western fans instead of giving us shitty replacements. Come on I want the JPN modernised score of S. Kikuchi, Bandai!
90sDBZ @ Nice catch. I never noticed that.

What rating do you think Gamespot will give the game? I'm betting a 5/10 and will say that the graphics look good, the multiplayer can be somewhat fun while the combat system and camera is dull.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
6.5/10 or 7.0/10 at max, I can't see reviewers giving it a higher score not even the fans themselves although if it had Kikuchi's score included that'd boost it to 7.5/10.
Let's take a look at IGN's previous review scores:
Budokai 3 - 8.0/10
Tenkaichi 3 - 8.0/10
Burst Limit - 7.9/10
Raging Blast - 6.2/10
Raging Blast 2 - 5.5/10
Ultimate Blast - 7.5/10
For Kinect - 4.1/10
Well, IGN does seem to have done their homework, apart from the RB2 review which is absolutely atrocious.

I'm not a fan of the Call of Duty franchise but criticising them for having large maps is ridiculous.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I don't want this to be a long winded debate about some other franchise but their point can still be valid. Bigger isn't always better. It's a fast arcade-y shooter, so naturally it's designed best for more cramped matches where the time between engagements are short.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
Reviews for DBZ games are often bogus anyway. I remember I used to collect GamesMaster Magazine for a while. They rate their games with a percentage. Here's what they gave the Tenkaichi trilogy:
BT1 80%
BT2 77%
BT3 65%
They actually thought each BT game was worse than the last.
They complained about them just being an upgrade of the previous game even though there were only 3 and yet they still give games like CoD and Fifa which have being doing the exact same thing year after year forever really favourable reviews. If anything the upgrades to Fifa are much more minor than the ones to the BT games.
It could be argued that BT2 was better than BT3 but there's no way in hell that any credible reviewer would rate BT1 as better than BT2.
