The magazine lists that Gohan's normal fighting clothes are nowhere to be seen, and instead, he will fight in a green athletic suit. The magazine also makes a note next to Gohan's normal attire, saying, "Since he knew Videl was pregnant, it appears Gohan's fashion has calmed down a bit! Maybe he quit being Stupid... I mean, Great Saiyaman?

Since Gohan's new design was revealed everyone complain how he look nerd and how he looks stupid. Seems that people just want ''badass'' designs. If you thinks Gohan looks horrible, well that's your opinion. I think he looks good.

The design is great but Toriyama's drawing does not resemble Gohan. His Battle of Gods artwork was a similar style but at least he actually looked like himself.

If you put that face-on shot in front of me, I could not tell you that was Gohan without context.

IMHO Whis should stay aside- maybe one precise blow, but no more. Since he was stated to be the strongest in universe etc bringing him into action could give us only disappointment.

I think he's going to be capable of effortlessly one shotting the new Freeza, but doesn't because it's an opportunity for Goku and Vegeta to test the results of their new training. Maybe he steps in at the last minute and saves the day, and then tells a beaten up Goku and Vegeta that they have much more work to do before they can even begin to think about doing whatever it is they're being trained for.

That sounds unlikely IMO, there's absolutely no sense of despair of hopelessness if that is the case.

If they need to be saved by Whis, and no one knows he's capable of it until the end, then it would seem hopeless. It would piss off a lot of fans, though.

I was just saying that Goku and Vegeta like to fight, that's why they always have a ''badass'' design. I said that because on Facebook and Youtube comments people just bash everything. Sorry if seems I was saying that to you.

My main concern with Gohan's design is what happened to his muscle mass? rather than his attire, hair and glasses.

I'd have to agree with Ajay on this one. I don't mind Gohan's design at all, but Toriyama's drawing there really doesn't scream 'Gohan' to me. If that picture had just come out completely without context, I might, might have been able to figure out it was a Toriyama drawing, or at least something drawn with his style in mind, but I'd never have pegged it for Gohan. Hell, even in the anime version of the art, which is slowly looking more like Gohan to me, there was a big debate for a while there as to whether or not that was Gohan, or Yamcha, or Goten, or someone else entirely. Which funnily enough harkens back to Videl's BOG design for me, heh.

As for his muscle mass, that's just a part of Toriyama's art nowadays. I can't help but wonder if Super Saiyan God was ever meant to be slimmer at all, or if that was just how Toriyama drew it and the anime staff took it at face value, when it had been meant to be Goku's basic normal mass.
