Is it just me or does Son Gohan's new hairdo resemble Videl's a fair bit (more-so in Yamamoto's art than in Toriyama-sensei's)?

I don't see much of a dip, to be honest, at least with these particular shots. The newer one isn't substantially less detailed than the former, and the colors are up to personal preference. If you're talking about off-model character art, Videl's face kind of looks odd to me in both shots. Considering the newer special must have had a considerably lower budget than the second Brolly movie, it doesn't look that bad in comparison.

It's like that with all animation these days, just look at the style of the old Simpsons episodes and compare them to the new ones. The traditional cell animation method used in the 80s/90s DB anime has been replaced by shiny, soulless digital ink and paint since it's cheaper and faster.

Not a fan of Toriyama's new "big head, tiny limbs" artstyle, myself. Not a fan. If Gohan's suddenly so trim, they better acknowledge it in the movie and give a reason.

This is nothing new; Toriyama's art style has been like this for years.

Compare the Bardocks Toriyama drew before Dragonball Minus with the one in Minus. I really don't get how you can say his present artstyle is the same as it ever was. It really isn't.

Oh what could have been... the hairstyle on the far right would have been perfect for teenage Gohan. A nice easy transition from his Cell games look.

As for his look in the current film, can't say I'm a fan of it. They're just making him look more like Yamcha.

He looks nothing like Yamcha if you ask me.. Heck even his Cell games hair I feel like is supposed like a "modern variant" of his dad's wig. As opposed to some generic hair that resembles Yamcha's.

It's fake. The art is too stiff and it looks like it's traced from the Dragon Ball Z shot.

It's also way too non-Yamamuro. Look at Freeza's face. It looks too properly proportioned to be Yamamuro.

Moreover, that art is abysmal and very clearly a mix of poor artistry and lazy traces from the original show. Yamamuro might have flaws but he isn't that bad.

The artist took a guess with Vegeta's armor around the stomach are, as I don't recall us getting to see that part of his armor yet(typical Vegeta holding his arms like that ).
