I'll still default to the Japanese version, but if the episodes come out on PSN then they'll likely be the dub and I'd like to at least enjoy the dub enough that I can watch Kai on the go (since I don't spend enough time at home).
Was there any news of this? I would LOVE to see Kai on PSN!
Hold it, hold it! I said if!

I've been sending emails and Tweets to FUNi asking about it and requesting that it be done, but there is no news regarding it. If you want it to happen, I suggest you do the same.

Fangirls, that's why.

(He does have a pleasant singing voice, though.)

Still, he shouldn't do every song.

Some variety would be nice.

I actually think Vic (Tokai) would be a good choice for Dragon Soul and "Yeah! Break! Care! Break!".
They could get the guy who did Dragonball GT Ending 4's Dub.
He was decent, but he didn't sound too excited. The Kai opening and ending themes are supposed to be quite energetic.

I don't know if it's been posted, but FUNimation has made a blog post confirming the cast.
FUNimation wrote:While Adam trudges through the snow on his way back to Dallas, I’ll give you the skinny on what was announced over at Katsucon with just a tad more info also.

FUNimation Entertainment Announces English Dub Cast of Dragon Ball Z Kai

Reprising their roles from Dragon Ball Z:

Goku – Sean Schemmel
Vegeta and Piccolo – Christopher R. Sabat
Raditz – Justin Cook
Master Roshi – Mike McFarland
Tien – John Burgmeier
Ox King – Kyle Hebert
Chi-Chi – Cynthia Cranz
Nappa – Phil Parsons

Also returning are Linda Chambers Young as Frieza and Sonny Strait as Krillin and Bardock.

Joining the cast:
Gohan – Colleen Clinkenbeard
Bulma – Monica Rial
Narrator – Doc Morgan
Chiaotzu and Puar – Brina Palencia

FUNimation Entertainment will begin releasing the series on DVD and Blu-ray starting with Part One on May 18, 2010.
Dammit FUNimation! Why must you keep Linda Young as Frieza!? Oh well, with Chris Sabat directing it, at least the scripts and voice directing will be top notch. Maybe he can get a decent Frieza out of Young's performance?

And still Tien? I hope they at least call him Tienshinhan like in Dragon Ball... It's still inaccurate, but it caters to the dub fans, but it's at least a little closer and is only 1 letter off...

Please, no more throaty bullshit Chris Cason impersonations, Mr. Burgmeier. Not even gonna comment on the obvious problem.

FUNimation forgot about him. He wasn't listed among the cast in the Dragon Ball booklets either.

Damn it, I hate Sean Schemmel's Goku. His returning almost makes me want to forget about this dub entirely. But Monica Rial being in this and Colleen Clinkenbeard replacing that awful Stephanie Naldony is enough to pique my interest.

Linda Young returning as Freeza pretty much says everything you want to know about their attitude about this dub. They're clearly doing this for the fans of the existing dub, not for the people who were waiting for a serious one.

I guess I shouldn't have expected any more major replacements, though.

Really though, was anyone seriously expecting Goku to be recast?

I have no problem with Schemmel's Goku as it's become. He's gotten leagues better compared to his formal self. He's really shined in the recent games. With Mr. Sabat at the helm insofar as directing, I have good expectations for this production as a whole.

Eh, I kinda see it as both ways. I mean, they are completely re-translating the script, and they are doing it accurately for once.

Kinda the "best of both worlds" if you can look at it that way (and in b4 "lol nothing best about teh dub").

I really have no problem with most of the voices, it's the delivery and script that piss me off.

Precisely. Keeping mainly the same cast (though hopefully with much better direction) appeals to fans of Z's existing dub. The accurate script and presentation appeals to the more knowledgeable fans.

You can't do an accurate dub if half the cast doesn't suit the characters.

Just because the script is the biggest problem, doesn't make it the only one.

Which is why I also said delivery. And as much as I would've loved Schemmel to be recast I knew it wouldn't happen.
