It's lame because it guarantees an open season on Vegito at some point and kills one of the few things to have lasting consequences.

Well the way Vegetto defused in the first place pretty much killed the portara fusion being permanent anyway, so them defusing now doesn't really change anything regarding that.

You could say that for like all of Dragonball. Against Daimao, Freeza, Cell all of them should have just died but they all had some crazy power boost just to defeat the villian. Gohan in the Cell arc is the worst offender.

But, the difference is those "crazy power boosts" were reasonable at time, unlike Dragon Ball Super

So say you are coming from a destroyed future with your mom recently killed. Then let's say that the 2 people that were the cause say that you caused multi universal death and destruction even though you know you were only trying to help your friends and family. Wouldn't you get pissed the hell off like Trunks did? Especially when you know you did the right thing.

Things like Dragon Ball Minus and Episode of Bardock suck the big one for me. I actually think Minus is worse, in the regard that it was written by Toriyama and is probably supposed to be considered part of the official continuity. I can just write of Episode of Bardock as a side story that never actually happened, like GT. I'd complain about Super, but that's more a fault on Toei's writing in general than anything to do recent changes to the formula, and there is some great things buried in there, like GT.
