You don't have to. I know that it isn't, this is why I was thinking about the extra side footage the entire time I was watching it.
I obviously wrote:Now I know that they zoomed in abit, and I know I was minus the extra footage on the sides, but after watching it like that, 60% of the episode was fine

I am shocked that so many people on other forums are completely oblivious to this screw up by FUNI. Guys from TNL and GAF aren't even aware of the cropping issue. We need to make bigger noise about this mess.

I don't think it will work, but here's (yet another) try for a petition.

EDIT: replaced url with final petition

No, I did not make or write this one...

That was just passable until it got to the demand for an English dub of HEAD-CHA-LA.

Yeah, someone will be re-writing it soom- hopefully.

It came from the FUNimation forum... so alittle bit of bad typing is expected

Well, Yu Yu Hakusho was able to pull it off, but then again, I don't think any of the YYH songs have nonesense stuff like "Ultra Z" or (if we're bringing the later OP into this) "Ramen Roppai." The writers are gonna have quite the time trying to re-write that smoothly :?.

Well, I was considering signing it (boxset supporter or not, I still would prefer to see a fullscreen version of this release come out sometime in the future), but once I had a look at the petition content itself, I didn't see the point. The whole thing looks like it was typed by a ten-year old or something... there's bad grammar and spelling throughout. Even if a lot of people decided to sign this and it did get all the way to FUNi, they wouldn't even bother to take it seriously--in "witch" case, I'd rather wait to sign a different petition made by a more intelligent person. :|

Honestly, the zeal of some DBZ fans is commendable, but their way of putting it to use is laughable at best... what a shame. -__-;
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

I already said it's going to be re-written...

And there's no point in there being 50 petitions on the same thing.

So please be nice, and sign it anyways. :D

Don't they realize how weird that would sound? Don't get me wrong; it's a great song and all, but it's distinctly Japanese. I remember watching an episode with the Japanese audio track with my friend, who also loved the series (one of my several attempts at "converting" regular fans), and he just laughed at it. His ignorance aside, I just don't see the theme "meshing" well with an English audience.

Though, it is DVD, so I suppose it wouldn't matter.

Well, if all else fails, they could try to use Kageyama Hironobu's "Engrish" version of the song as the opening...

(BTW, which one of those two names is the guy's last name? I think it's Hironobu, but it still confuses me... @__@)

Except for the fact that it sounds completely ridiculous.

Kageyama is his surname.

lol, I remember those. I actually like them. My brothers and I have a few running jokes with the "We Were Angels" song ("Anjeru" sounds oddly like "Adeh" when sung the way it is, and of course we are confident that some day we'll find what we've been saaaaching foe.)

Oh, and Wikipedia says it's Hironobu.

If FUNi insists on making things more "HARDCORE LAWL" with their intros they could've at least got ahold of the Animetal version of Cha-La Head Cha-La.

I honestly think that you guys are expecting too much from FUNimation with an English variation of Head-Cha-La. I know that they did variations of Makafushigi Adobencha and Romantikku Ageruyo, but they just sounded wierd to me. I think an English version of Head-Cha-La would suck ass. Just my two cents.

I concur.

Is it really that big of a deal?

While I agree that it's unreasonable to expect an English version of Cha-La Head-Cha-La, I'd love it if they did make one. I happen to really like their English versions of Makafushigi Adventure and Romantic Ageru Yo (and in fact, I like the latter even better than the original song).

I liked Romantikku Ageruyo's English version as well. But it was just off to me. To each his own. I still think Head-Cha-La would be wierd though. It would be really neat if FUNi could get the variation that was done by the Brazilian band. Their name eludes me right now, but it was really awesome. It was even hosted on the main site, I think.
