I really don't see why people think this will make BoG and RoF non-canon? Why can't it be a story before BoG and RoF?

If Super ends up having just a recap of BoG and RF then it doesn't make them "non-canon", really. It just appears that they won't do it, since Beerus is awake 2 years (?) prior to actually waking up in the movie. So unless Toriyama's memory is really short, it appears all is pointing towards them re-writing stuff.

Well, the manga isn't translated yet so I can't understand what and how they are talking. The 1st episode also haven't aired yet. Based on RoF, the manga can be different from the anime. Well, we'll see.

There was a theory that Super will eventually just edit down the new films into an episodic format; I wouldn't put it past them to try that.

They have Toriyama onboard and they just remake the same films as anime episodes, and the same episodes as manga chapters? I really hope that's not the case.

I'm with Marco Polo on this one. Imo why bother making a big deal out of 18 year since last DBZ related content if its episode version and manga of the movies? seems like a waste of effort.

The movies are each only about an hour and 30 minutes long. A tv adaptation of them shouldn't last that many episodes (5 each, at most). If the rumors of there being 100 episodes total is true, why does this bother anyone? Besides, we've seen pictures of a Fat Beerus and a 9-star dragon ball, indicating entirely new stories. I'm all for re-tellings or recaps of the movies.

From the video description it would seem Fat!Beerus(or Champ, if TDC is right) first appears after Resurrection F, so I'm expecting this series just to have a few short stories explaining or expanding on what happened before BoG and what happened leading up to RoF.
I don't expect them to ignore the movies or retell them.
Though Beerus destroying that planet apparently between waking up and going to Earth seems weird. In BoG it all seems to flow so naturally:
Beerus wakes up and eats breakfast and tells about his SSG dream --> then he takes Whis outside to meet the Oracle fish --> they then begin their journey to Kaio's.
There's also the problem of Goku being on the planet all the time from the moment Kaio knew about it. Are we supposed to believe Kaioshin took several days before calling up Kaio?

I think all this confusion brought forth from the chapter might also be attributed to it perhaps being two seperate storylines thrown together?
We'll find out, when the proper episode comes out...

I don't know why this wouldn't re-write the movie, really. I don't see why it'd make sense for Super to start off here, just to have one episode pre-BoG that doesn't really add ANYTHING to the story and then jump in right after BoG. I'm almost sure they're gonna make a whole new story with Beerus and the SSG-

I would be down for this... just add expanded scenes... but I would love if they could tone down Vegeta's bingo dance. *shudders*

Not if this happens RIGHT after the Buu saga, no. BoG doesn't happen until 3 years after Buu anyway. When Beerus goes home to "think about the God", he falls asleep. Totally fits.

I'm excited about the 100 episodes news, at 12-13 episodes per anime season that should mean Dragon Ball Super lasts through Spring 2017 or thereabouts.

Kind of reminds me of that time after his Number 1 speech when he thinks Goku is just hiding his real power not to hurt his feeling... but that was not the case.

There's a 9 star ball in the cover of the chapter.

Either a fuck up or it's hinting at something. Seeing as how it was Toyble who drew it, people are thinking it's on purpose. I believe it was a mistake, personally.
