Doing another tournament arc is really silly -- if it's structured like the previous one, at least. Even a show with the best of schedules can struggle with pure-action arcs. Considering the Future Trunks arc began to crumble once it hit the action, I'm worried.

I hope this is set across several days with side plot-lines used to break up the action. You know, kinda like Yu Yu Hakusho's Dark Tournament. The matches were only part of the arc, while side events helped carry the story.

That is the only way I see this working, but unfortunately, that doesn't seem very Toriyama, so I'm not holding my breath.

This feels too soon, it feels wrong for Super, and I'm not feeling very positive. I just hope I can look back on this message and laugh at myself.
That would explain Yamamuro's absent, and the abscent of a lot of regulars in FT arc like Onishi, Iseki, mini Shida (Aka Yuya Takahashi. I know he is not a regular but I can dream right? ) and Toma and almost all directors of Super

Mmm delicious Tate!

Very excited for this, especially with lovely unfiltered character art like that.

I hope it's another #26 Part A case where it's just pure Tate. That would really be the most perfect Christmas present.

I love that Tate Naoki posture. Even still images feel like they're ready to pop into action at any time!

I love Tate, but I don't like the eyes in that image. They're too small, and they make the nose look bigger than it already does. Other than that, though, solid. Looking forward to the action in that episode.

I count 8 regular animators that usually appear every few episodes disappearing from episodes 61-67 and most episodes in the past few weeks have had tiny staff lists and conservative animation.
If the episodes are being worked on ahead they would more than likely have a fair amount of new animators working on them as well, not just Super's current regulars.

That picture looks really rough, even for Tate. Hopefully he's not doing most of the episode, because I feel like that would kind of a waste.

I'm guessing all of these filler episodes are going to be skeleton crew staff (outside of outsourcing), with the next arc starting in February I think tomorrow's episode will be very conservative and next week will be as well outside of some stuff from Tate and Karasawa. The 11 weeks of filler hopefully serves the purpose of giving the next arc the production time it needs.

Don't worry that's just unfiltered tate. TBH, I rather see this Tate than the filtered one. Also, as Arched Thunder says, it will probably be a conservative episode too.

They shouldn't have had action filler episodes imo. Mostly static episodes could have done great for the schedule.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I can understand why they'd want a bit of action, they probably didn't want viewers to get bored.

Yeah, you guys are probably right. I feel torn though because although I do love Tate, I'm not very fond of this shot at all.

I don't mind it. I wouldn't say it's rough, but it is problematic. The problem being that that's Tate's Vegeta with Goku's hair. MS Paint is great!

That's true, hopefully these are the last action episodes in a while though.

We'll probably get a bit of cool animation from him, but due to time constraints and possibly a small staff his art will probably suffer. I'm fine with it though, as long as the next arc has the production time needed to convince more animators to work on the show making it so Tate's work isn't hurt because he constantly has to do animation outside of his own episodes.
We'll see though. I'm very anxious to see how things play out, this could finally be the turning point for Super's production or it could be a huge crash and burn for the production depending on what's going on behind the scenes. The large amount of filler between arcs makes me very hopeful though.
Hopefully the action doesn't start until a few episodes in as well.

Holy shit, lol.

The first two episodes in 2017 don't sound too actiony based on titles, but I could be TOTALLY wrong.

A new opening has been confirmed for the new Dragon Ball Super arc.
Could this affect the quality of the episodes?

It depends on a lot of factors, not worth worrying about right now.

DB Super is getting a new Opening (+Ending). Makes you wonder how the production is going. But, I'm 100% sure we're getting a bunch of new animators when the arc starts.

Thats a good point, and 2 months of filler is not bad, because IIRC the Garlick Jr Arc was around 2 months long in Z, besides would u guys want DBS to go through 2 years of filler like Naruto in order to improve the schedule?
