Does kinda suck, but we know without knowing (and it is fitting for the first movie in ages) that it'll be Goku saving the day in the end.

I think you took my use of the word 'bad' the opposite direction. I didn't mean bad as in 'Wow, this is a terrible story'. I meant bad as in 'dirty'. 'Kinky'. 'Sex-filled'. Take your pick.

I still have hope that the movie wouldn't be "the Goku show" for a large portion of it. I really hope Gohan and the others are not only there just to get beat up to show how strong the villain is. But yeah, we all know Goku is going to save the day at the end but I still want other characters to actually play an important role.

I seriously doubt Videl will have an important role... Wasn't that just the voice actress expressing her enthusiasm in typical marketing speech? Like, yeah I'm playing that character in that new film and it was an amazing experience working with everyone and that character is so interesting and has a huge role in the story etc. etc.
...She'll probably have like 6 sentences in the whole movie and be completely interchangeable with Bulma and Chichi.

Very true, it could turn out to be just marketing talk. I hope that's not the case though - Videl was so poorly used in the Boo arc, so I'd like to see her finally get the part she deserves here.

That was from when the poster was still in production. They're actually positioned so that they're hanging off the release date.

still don't know what that the last figure from that one line for the movie is, right? At the rate it's going, that's probably going to turn out to be something big too.

I hear ya. I like the quirky Toriyama-like qualities to his character. I would be less impressed with a general "i'm so bad muhahahaha" type character, that wouldn't lend to as many interesting story telling elements. Everything about him so far is both scary and humorous. This is why Toriyama is the man hahaha. Time will tell whether or not the story is actually really any good, but I am not really worried about it. I have pretty good faith that it will turn out just fine.
