Doesn't surprised me much though.
Goku absorbed the God power in the end of BOG and his base form power increased by that. Beerus explained this.

Seems like he doesn't need it anymore, just like Gohan doesn't need to turn ssj, unless to look cooler.

Goku doesn't become Super Saiyan at all throughout the film?

From what I understand the God transformation had such an effect on Goku that he didn't necessarily need to transform anymore, but I still expected him to just because it's always so cool to see visually when he does if nothing else.

Strange when you consider the first piece of promotional art we got was Goku as a Super Saiyan (see avatar) and the mini teaser we got he was too.

The fact the Goku doesn't go Super Saiyan doesn't suprise me a bit. The most logical way to fight in base as the Super Saiyan form still has some strain to put on body.

But I doesn't really like the fact that Frieza begins to train, just because that explanation wouldn't satisfy me that he has gotten enough strong to compete our heroes, that simply doesn't work like that. You train a bit and progress so much like others (Saiyans) do in 20 years.

Or it could be that the footage from the mini teaser doesn't really appear in the movie (kind of like BoG).

Goku not transforming makes me believe in my "Freeza won't have died so history will be changed" theory even more.

I knew there was a chance of no ssj2 and 3 because of what Toriyama said about Gokû post ssjg-power absorption, but no ssj1 to?!
That is interesting.
Still hoping that magenta lightning eludes to him using his ssjg form though.

But wow no regular ssj.

No dialogue recorded means no major amount of animation is done yet? No new trailer this time?

I wonder if anything else was revealed. Not knowing about Goten and Trunks still has me in mystery limbo, as does not knowing what the despair refers to, and what impressed Torishima about this script.

Considering Freeza is abnormally strong on his own, I wonder if that affinity could be applied to training. Is he a fast learner? I have the "does Superman have a super sense of humor?" scene from Seinfeld stuck in my head now.

Maybe Goku will end up transforming into a Super Saiyan God for the 3rd time to absorb Freeza's attack, but that would be too cheap to happen again. I'm very fine with Goku to not transform at all, because it goes very well with EOZ when he didn't transfom against Uub. Maybe Gohan doesn't transform either, only for creating God Vegeta.

I like Gohan's and Goku's states to be ones that hide their powers, still they are insanely powerful. I'm very happy that Goku ultimately made the power his own, but Gohan got it for free.

It's still 5 months away from Fukkastu no F's release, so the animation is still in production. I have a feeling that they don't want to show too much, like they did with Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. The new trailer will come out in due time.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods's animation wasn't finished until just a few weeks before the premiere, so it will be same with Fukkastu no F.

I'm not surprised about Goku, but Freeza not having done training in his whole life sounds weird... Whatever.

Goku not going SSJ makes a lot of sense actually. After he absorbed the God power it makes sense for him to train himself to control it in base form. Beerus handles so much power without ever needing to transform, so it's only logical for Goku to aspire to that.

I'm kinda glad Goku doesn't turn SSJ. It's a nice change of pace and it makes sense since he has SSG powers, as others have mentioned.
