It's probably not going to be used in the Nicktoons airing. The DVD will probably have it, while the Nicktoons version will stick with Y!B!C!B! instead of just switiching straight into Kokoro no Hane.

DBZ bootlegs have the movie 9 cover with the pioneer movie 2 description on the back and the disc actually has a Japanese soap opera in MEPG2.

I love her Gohan, but I'm going to have to wait a while to pass judgement on her 18. I'm just so used to a bit more attitude with the role.

I wonder why McCoy wasn't available. She's voicing Maria Ross in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Her 18 was one of the few voices that didn't need replacing for Kai, either out of convenience nor necessity. In other words, if you follow me, I actually liked her 18.

Eric Vale's Trunks sounds better and the delivery is more natural than before.

Everyone wins this episode; Huber is great, Clickenbeard will be decent, "If they set that android free NOOOOO" is gone, and the babble between the three androids went a lot better than I recall it in the first dub. And I have to say I like how they arranged the Kikuchi inserts.

They used the mono-mixed version of M1801 on BGM collection. How stupid. Movie 10 soundtrack has all the pieces in stereo, but they didn't use it. The Kai staff's ignorance about the Kikuchi score always irritates me.

Ouch! That definitely will be noticeable on FUNimation's 5.1 dub mix.

I think I'm the odd one out in this situation but--consistency be damned--I'm overjoyed that they kept the Kikuchi music in the dub. Right from the Kai's premiere I was not a fan of Yamamoto's BGM and hoped that by some miracle we'd get a version with the original music. Still can't believe I got my wish. They say be careful what you wish for, after all. I agree that the placement is less than stellar and at times feels like the show is just playing one of the tracks from the 5 disc set BGM piece by BGM piece without stopping and while that does get on my nerves it doesn't irritate me nearly as much as Yamamoto's score. I was just not a fan of his take, stolen music or not, and I'm a huge fan of his (As far as I know) own original music from games like Ultimate Battle 22 and Budokai. On top of all that, barring the airings of the Pioneer dubbed movies, this is the first time we'll ever hear DBZ dubbed in English with the original music on TV. I just think that's pretty wild after some 15 odd years.

Watching the new episode I must say I was at first incredibly disappointed that Colleen Clinkenbeard would be replacing Meredith McCoy since I thought she did a very good job in the original FUNi dub, but I must say, now I actually prefer Colleen Clinkenbeard! Her voice grew on me really quick and I think she fits the role a lot better.

I love Kikuchi's score. Always have, always gonna. It's classic stuff. However, I honestly think the Kikuchi music will have a negative effect on Kai in North America. We're going to have a situation where kids watching Nicktoons will have no idea why the show suddenly has switched to such poor audio quality, horribly dated sounding, or as my friend who isn't into Dragon Ball calls it, "Scooby Doo" music.

FUNimation really should have found some loophole to keep Yamamoto's score. Even if it meant paying Kenji himself for it being used. Lord knows Toei won't consider that now. Not to mention any fans of Kai out there now who preferred the replacement music for Z are now going to have to hear the music they hate in Kai. Which could lead to them not watching the show altogether. This would likely lead to no motivation to continue the series after Cell, which I don't think any of us Kai fans want.

Keep in mind though, most of this is because I'm so very pissed off that all the other great non-plagiarized Yamamoto pieces will never be on my DVDs. However, I believe my point remains valid.

Honestly, once the DVDs come out I'm just going to edit out the score and re add Yamamato's score as it was intended to be.

But anyway, I like how the Androids said that they are human this time! There's something weird about Colleen's 18, it seems too...sweet. It needs to sound colder, or as penguintruth said, more attitude.

When's the next new episode? I can't wait!

This would be incredibly foolish after Toei themselves stopped using the score due to possible copyright issues. The issue isn't that Toei stopped using the score, it's that they could get the shit sued out of them if they kept using the Yamamoto score. Nobody aside from Yamamoto himself and maybe some higher-ups at Toei know which songs were plagiarized and which weren't, and for all we know he could've lifted every single song he composed for Kai from other sources.

Oh man, I love the exchange between Vegeta and the Androids. I haven't laughed out loud at DBZ in a while (save for Abridged :P.) I'm digging everyone's voices--everyone seems spot-on as usual and I like Android 18's new voice, although it takes a bit of getting used to. I guess those of us who played RB2 had a head-start on that.

I don't get why people think the Kikuchi score is badly placed in this particular episode, though.

I can tell you for a fact that having compared several earlier Kikuchi-Kai episodes, Kikuchi-Kai and Yamamoto-Kai always have silence in the exact same places.

My friend calls it "Doop Dee Doo" when referring to Z's music.

I wonder if they're going to keep the Yamamoto score on the home release while using the Kuchiki score for the TV version. I wouldn't be surprised if they went that route to get more people to buy it.

I'm really hoping that's the case, although I doubt it. If they're gonna play it safe by having it on TV, odds are they will on the home release. The chances of it happening are very slim. Although all those sources from before that said changing "some" of the songs and having a "revised Kai score" were referring to "Dragon Ball Z Kai Part 5 that will be available in June". I would seriously not put it past FUNimation to do something as inconsistent as have Kikuchi on TV, and Yamamoto on home release. They've done stranger things.

I can dream, right? I'll be hoping for it until Part 5 ships to my door. Hearing Kikuchi in Kai when I know I should be hearing Yamamoto bothers me a lot. Almost as much as hearing Faulconer in Z. I know it's simply not supposed to be there.

They knew enough to be able to go back and replace them for the Nicktoons broadcast before this current episode. I'd say Toei would have been the ones to let them know which songs to remove.

Finally got to here 18's voice in this video:

Colleen cptures the whole 'teenage girl' vibe, but she lacks the coldness that Meredith Mecoy (is that how you spell it?) had.

No. 18 isn't really a cold character, though. She's amused and putting on an air of sexiness, when she isn't half-heartedly annoyed by No. 17's antics.

17 called 18 "sister" in front of Krillin. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Krillin unaware that they're related? Wasn't he depressed about that at the end of the Cell Games? Or is he just assuming he means sister android?

One could assume that Krillin's brain functions poorly under stress and fear, or, like you said, he assumes that she's a "sister android", not a blood sister.
