I love the new episode, especially at the end with Vegeta screaming from his broken arm.

I just have an unrelated question. At the end of the video, where is that 8-bit "Cha-la Head Cha-la" soundbit from? I'd really like to download it.

Did anyone else think 16 and 17's dialogue was the best part?

Yes! That was definitely my favourite part of the episode. Glad to see I'm not alone.

I like the nod to FUNi Vegeta's infamous "Sad for you!" line.

Great episode as usual. Loved the juxtaposition of "the androids are the greatest threat to mankind" with Vegeta's rampage. Only thing I didn't understand was what Trunks was referencing when he says "more than I thought, less than you think."

It's essentially saying that, he had the wrong idea about the past (and more importantly, his father), but after experiencing the past and getting to know everyone, he realizes that he probably should have seen it all coming.

And the Europeans part is actually referring to the fact that the two truckers were clearly redneck. A lot of redneck stereotypes dictate that they believe more eccentric dressers/those with eccentric haircuts/etc. are from Europe.

Bwah, really? I live in Redneck central and that's a new one for me. Though...it's not so far removed from the whole 'SPEAK ENGLISH' sentiment that a lot slip into even if they're being unintentionally racist, so...I could see it. I probably just haven't run into it myself.

Great episode, I'm loving 17 and 18's voices a lot so far. 16 seems like he's gonna be a lot of fun now too.

I understand now why you threw out the content warning on your tumblr, but honestly Vegeta was perfect- you just nailed how stiflingly full of himself he was, and since DBZA ain't shonen jump, he's going to be running his mouth. And the usual deconstructions, which are actually appropriate because of Trunks' being fresh blood to the group making the more thoughtful characters reexamine the series.

I don't know what about the almost rapid annunciation on "I will kill as many people as it takes" got me, but I loved that.

Yamcha, though.

I am very curious where that's going to go, given that #16 becomes the clear-headed one in the group without the teenage hooey pretty clearly in the series, but #17's almost babysitting him now.

Someone brought up that Kaiser, you intentionally had Vegeta's arm broken at 9:18; the exact same time that Vegeta would feel euphoria for destroying Nappa.

Is that true?

Also,

Heh, I find it funny how useless Vegeta really is in the TFS world (actually, in canon he really is more than useless, he causes problems!!)

In a way, I'm hoping they will redeem Yamcha/Krillin and compare him to how much of a failure and a threat Vegeta is to the gang and to the world!

But, I guess I'm getting my hopes up eh?

Seriously, Yamcha is actually more useful for those people who say he is not! He's helping ChiChi look after Son, without that, dude, Goku might not make it. In a real life situation, Yamcha would be seen as a wonderful friend not only to Goku, but to ChiChi since he is taking the burden off of her acting as a single mom looking after the sick.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Comparing Yamcha with Vegeta won't end favourably for Yamcha. For all the problems Vegeta has caused he's solved a bunch of them as well. Yamcha's taking care of Goku, but really not actually doing anything. He's able to do that because Vegeta saved Goku's life by rescuing him from 19.

If Vegeta hadn't saved him, Piccolo would.

And if Yamcha hadn't carried Goku back or watched over him, someone else would have. So if being literally the only person who would do something is the only way to contribute, that makes things much worse than Yamcha.

Is the Yamcha/Chichi stuff filler or is it in the manga?

You should have made a sex joke between the two to justify the appearance of Goten in the Buu arc.

Aaaand make Chichi and Yamcha look like a couple of scumbags? I mean, sure, it's funny at a distance, but that would make them both awful people. Yamcha can be lazy, a hair selfish, and kind of a sad sack, but we paint him more as someone who has just settled for where he is rather than trying to improve rather than just an awful person. That would also make Chichi just... eagh.

I found Trunks hitting the "Goku Button" particularly funny because he was actually wrong this time.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
