No it wouldn't. They'd keep watching, complaining about how "our guy Gohan" is getting shafted and threatening to drop the show week after week after week, just like they've done up til now.

Remember in the Z anime when Gohan fought Final Form Freeza? I kinda expect a similar scene in the ToP , Gohan fighting an exhausted Jiren, and he landing punches on Jiren should make his fanbase happy, and also the rest of the fandom because there would be the excuse of Jiren being exhausted after fighting Goku, Hit and Vegeta(I bet Toei will give Jiren that weakness so he doesnt look that op).

Would it really be a weakness if he's going through several of the strongest guys? Even then, I don't see Jiren having a weakness at all.

Gohan's role here is significant. His performance will "make or break" his character in the eyes of the fandom. Him being a disappointment again after his treatment in Super, or even dating back to him not stopping Buu, and to do this yet again, would be the last straw that finally breaks the camels back for people. They would never believe Gohan would do anything ever again and his character will be viewed as a constant disappointment. He might as well retire to the bahamas at that point.

And whatever the fandom believes in a character or not is bad because?
Its not like show telling them whatever gohan is significant or not will change their expectations.This is the same fandom that believed Gohan would have turned ssjb and kill Hit in the 2 Hit episodes.He failled in the Buu saga,he can faill again.
And yes you can give him some random fodder and be done with it,not to mention he is fighting Freeza so you can't say he did not get any major fight either.

Being Goku's kid does not mean much either,that did not stop Goten from being irrelevant or useless.
As for the main character thing,Bulma was a main character in OG DB as well,so i guess they should have brought Bulma to defeat Jiren.

Nah no one is leaving, The camel left already laughing off people who said they'd leave. Nah if Gohan goes back to sucking, then that means the Gohan sucks jokes can return. Though I don't understand this whole fodder would be ok thing. Should Goku be the only one to fight those who aren't fodder? Do people really want that aspect of GT or most of the DBZ movies to return? Should Freeza's return also be reduced to fodder too and nothing of note?

I'm really starting to feel like the "terrible thing" that is going to happen is Goku's transformation itself.

I've been saying this shit for months now. It's so goddamn obvious that it's painful. I just hope the pay-off is good.

Perhaps the provisional titles "Fighting Maniac saiyan battle" is referring to Goku? Maybe it's saiyans from both u7 and u6 have to fight him? So much to speculate on!!

It should determine Gohans fate, if he will get a big role in the Jiren fight or not. I'm going to be shocked if he is eliminated, after what happened to Krillin, who also got a good focus in the recruitment episodes...

I really Feel this is as much Gohan's arc as it is Goku's arc. It be a Major Upset to see Gohan go now with all the building-up back to a Major Fighter he has been threw and it is clear their is still allot for him to go threw in this arc. So I Grandly Doubt this will be his Final and certainly I hope it is not!

Also, I feel their will be a Gohan vs. Toppo Fight coming in this Arc, it felt that was a match and meeting meant to happen!

The correlation is why people would want to be content with everyone outside of Goku fighting merely fodder. Why have a big tournament including a bunch of the cast, if they're just gonna basically be reduced to padding until the real fights happen? It's like with the DBZ movies where they fight off a bunch of mooks, get their asses kicked by said mooks, and then Goku has to come in and do everything else. Especially with the likes of Tree of Might.

I think about it...... .........while I cannot ever say 100% I know this or that cause that be Egoist for me to cause I am not writing this story, allot has been built up for Ribrianne for this arc for her as well. Not on the levels of Goku vs. Jiren, but she is pretty well up their in importance.

Honstly I feel it is as much HER Arc as it is for the other the Big Players Like Goku, Gohan, Vegita, Jiren, Toppo, Frieza and Hit.

I like Rozie ALLOT and while I want to see her and ALL of Universe 2 the rest of the Team go Far and Be as Grand showing as they can be, I doubt any of them will be their longer then Ribrianne, just does not flow with how this all has been built, anime is pretty straight forward like that.

So while I will still have cautious optimism like always cause that is the Logical thing to always do with, well ~~~ Anything you like. I have a Pretty Solid Feeling Ribrianne will be in this till the very end of the ToP. I even have gone threw my head of Scenarios and Reasons Why Ribrianne would get ringed-out this early. But allot of them flow badly with the story and hype built around her, it just would bring the story to a dead-stop. So I my Good Hopes that Ribrianne will be Alright and show she is one of the Best by the end of all of this!

I can only do as much as anyone other Fan when Theorizing DB-Super and the Top, But I try to be the Best-At-What-It-Is-I-Do and that is Universe 2 and Brianne de Chateau/Ribrianne!

Why would Goku and Vegeta team up to fight vastly inferior Saiyans outside of Kale?

The same reason Goku and Vegeta teamed up to fight a vastly inferior U9. For false tension. They made them go SSB even though ssj2 would've been enough. I'm sure they'd find someway to make it seem like there's a struggle taking place.

The only reason I stated it'd be a 2 on 3 match was because of the title of the episode. Don't looks too much into it.

There seems to be a pattern of people not getting finished off, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone came and saved Goku from getting KOed or something. Like Hit stepping in and saving Goku as payback for helping with Dyspo.

I forgot about Gohan. Yeah I could see a 3 on 3 Super Saiyan fight since we've never seen something like that before.

U9's teamwork gave them trouble and Goku just unleashed a new form. So, why would he need Vegeta's help to fight the U6 Saiyans and why would Vegeta toy with them given that Jiren is on the loose?
