So the ratings really do just alternate between the mid 5's and the mid 6's doesn't it?

Apparently it's not all dependent on Dragon Ball Super itself because One Piece rises and falls along with it. Does One Piece air before DBS?

I don't know why it's so consisently either 5.5ish or 6.5ish which has been the case since episode 13. It's like there's a group of people that can only be bothered to watch the odd numbered episodes.

This brings me to wonder, what was the rating for GT? Didn't Toei said DB Super Arc 1 had a succesful run on tv?.

All of GT's ratings: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/episode/gt/list/
Average: 14.6%
Maximum: 19.7% (Episode 02)
Minimum: 9.6% (Episode 21)
All of which is higher than Super mostly because back then there were more children, less digital competition, and GT aired in the evenings like DB and Z did, instead of in the mornings like Super.

Which is still less than Z's:
Rating Shares: Average: 20.5%
Maximum: 27.5% (Episode 218)
Minimum: 12.1% (Episode 273)
and DB's:
Average: 21.2%
Maximum: 29.5% (Episode 047)
Minimum: 13.7% (Episode 110)
On hiatus.

The more logical assumption would be that there's some biweekly show on another channel that group would rather watch those weeks it's on.

The ratings aren't absolute, though, right? so the same number of people might be watching each time but the number could be affected by how many people watch other shows? or am I getting that wrong?

Thanks Chuquita, so basically this means Super is on the safe zone for now, GT does have terrible ratings compared to DBZ and DB, while Super has ratings comparable to Kai.

And that's not terrible?

http://www.tvguide.or.jp/ranking/timerr ... index.html

DVR Rating: 9-15 of November
1st: Lupin III - 100.0
2nd: Yokai Watch - 82.6
3rd: One Piece - 72.4 (Up 1)
4th: Doraemon - 72.1 (Down 1)
5th: Detective Conan - 58.8
6th: Mobile Suit Gundam - 58.2
7th: One Punch Man - 55.5
8th: Gintama - 53.7
9th: Dragon Ball Super(Episode 19) - 51.2 (Up 2 at least)
10th: Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider - 38.2 (Down 1)

We're back into the top 10, with a sizable advantage over the Perfect Insider. The DVR rankings have these weird weeks, like what happened recently with Mobile Suit Gundam, also when Super was 1st twice. Currently we belong between 7th and 9th. If the changes FnF will have(Ginyu Return) are well received, I can see us getting into 5th. Above I find it very unlikely, the old guard is strong.

Yikes, wonder what caused the drop to 5.5.

I really feel like they should move Super to an evening time slot.

No, Dragon Ball Super would suffer greatly in a timeslot like that.

Wouldn't an evening timeslot be a lot more convenient for both kids and adults?

It's not like 30 years ago. Shonen anime don't draw big numbers in evening slots anymore.

Well, Naruto airs in the late afternoon, and it doesn't even appear in these top 10 lists. The Sunday morning time slot is Toei's biggest anime showcase on TV right now, as far as they're concerned, putting Super alongside One Piece is giving it top-billing.

I'm new to this discussion but I've been reading some of the posts. The rankings are comparing DB Super with other shows from other time slots right? Hows DB Super compared to other the other shows in the same time slot?

Maybe I'm overly worrying but I want DBS to have as much chance to extend past the Universe 6 arc.

There is nothing that I could find airing at 9am in japan other than repeats. However there is a music channel that airs concerts? I am guessing, and it gets rating anywhere from a 3.9 to 4.9
