Is my email going wonky on me, or something... ? D:
Ah, no, I think I've just been losing track of all the various e-mails and PMs I've been sending. All I probably sent you were those e-mails.

Well, my Uncle decided to hold a football game/ karaoke party Saturday night. I'm just gonna have to bring my laptop along, I guess. I'm pretty sure he's got Wi-Fi or something set up at his house.

D'ya think she'd mind if I call her "Shinpan," too? "Mr. Announcer" does take to long, and seems weird considering she's a girl. O_o

So... Saturday night at 9 PM (8 PM for Kino, 11 AM or 12 PM for Jack) good with everyone?

If I might suggest something...

Have you thought about maybe using Animetal's Chala-Head-Chala?

I didn't even know they did that song until I saw it on that site dedicated to the song, and it's pretty freakin' cool, imo.

If you allow, I would like to give my 2 cents about this "Head-Cha-la discussion". ^.-

If you want to make an own version, I would use the instrumental version of the Mexican extended version.

The Japanese instrumental version has a pretty bad quality. TOEI has never given the true high quality instrumental version to the foreign companies and studios. That's the reason why so many companies made their Head-Cha-La with own instruments.

The mexican extended version has pretty much the same rhythm as the Japanese one and has - in my opinion - a very fucking good sound and atmosphere. ^,^

Sure, it's the extended version (from a CD), but I edited it into a TV version:
http://www.voice-actors.de/member/rac/h ... vedits.rar

There are four versions. First is the pretty untouched version (only the whoosh SFX was added). The rest have some little additional instruments.

I hope you like it.^^

Oh, and I was about to make an English text. Actually only for my...purpose. It isn't finished yet, but I could finish it if you want.

Yes, thanks for pointing that out. I was criusing the site a bit, checking out the different instrumentals. I was favoring the German version, myself.

I think he's referring to an English translated version of Cha-La. Since this is an English fandub, won't Announcer be singing an English version of it? I mean, if you want it in Japanese, then we may as well just use the original version.

Oh. Heh, heh. Duh...

Nathan, care to point me somewheres I might get to hear this "Animetal" group's version?

Yeah, hearing it in english wasn't fun

Anyways...

Someone threw Animetal's Cha-La over the video, and apparently there's sync problems... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmBtsef5-D4

Would there be a way to work around that? :?

Yeah, the Animetal version takes names. :P

But I find the hardrock version from Highlord a little better. It is cool, that the first lyrics are in Japanese and the rest in English (text from the filipino version).

Highlord's version is pretty sweet, but the vocals sound tiny compared to the guitar O_o, and that's bad for a mostly vocal type of song

True, but kinda hard to find an instrumental. And we're all for Mr.Announcer to do it ^.^
Cool. Which version did you use? I'm seeing a few slightly different arrangements here that we might be able to use...
I used bunch of different versions. The Japan TV Size one was the original one I used (for the YouTube video and the first post), although it's got some horrible quality. I also used the full size one, although there's this instrument (dunno it's name) playing in the back, as well as the Budokai and 2005 versions. Although the 2005 version doesn't have the greatest quality..

I've heard that one before and it's not that excellent. Although I never knew it was for the Phillipine dub. There's also this strange English one on the HeadChaLa.de site that doesn't seem like it belongs

Eh...Animetal's version just felt...lacking. And their cover of Makafushigi Adventure was pretty awesome.
Sure, it's the extended version (from a CD), but I edited it into a TV version:
http://www.voice-actors.de/member/rac/h ... vedits.rar
...Interesting..why is it the Budokai version can be heard in all of them? And with bad sync?

Are the translations in song form and all? I tried singing along to an instrumental once with a translated version (I think it was the one on DaizEX). It was a tad bit difficult, I kept finishing singing a line while it was still playing (Yet I tried in Japanese...and It wasn't too bad)

So yeah...

Well, the way it's looking so far is that we'll have Mr. Announcer show what she can do in the original Japanese, with one of the HQ TV versions for the BGM (Like I said, I'm leaning towards the German instrumental version).

Hey Eclipse, are you still up for doing some video editing? You're good with the technical aspects of it (that I know nothing about), right?

Depends. I suppose I have experience (..Does AMV making count as experience?), but yeah. Just to know, what sort of...editing are we gonna be doing for this project?

And technical aspects? Depends on which aspects...>.>

It's really gonna be all about the sound. Voices will be recorded by people and cleaned up by Tenken. Sound effects will be gathered, created, or ripped. Music will be decided on and gathered. The job of the video editor(s) is to put it all in it's proper place. The movie footage, once you, Steven Perry, and Conan give capsuleman the word, will be ripped from his DragonBox and given to you in managably-sized lengths, so there won't be much to do with the visual aspects. We'll have some sort of special script made up for you guys, pointing out where to put everything.

Well, like I said, I don't know much. But whatever fancy-smancy encoding stuff is done to end up with a good-looking, good quality stereo sound-bearing end result.

I had assumed so...thing is, I was thinking I was supposed to just sync it all up and all :D
Here's my advice. I think we need to just make an audio track right before we do anything on the video. We time the special effects, place the voices in, then save as an audio file, and simply sync it up to the footage.

Of course, it'll be more technical than that, but it seems like that to me. Far more simpler than getting all the sound effects, music, and voices and having to do it ourselves.

Well, in regarding sound, I doubt I'll be able to do much. I'd really want to try to make a sound track, although it's quite limited with Audacity =P (And I don't have money for After Effects). Although regarding video...I do have a question.

What kinda file size would you want? and format? *Grabs notebook*

I'd thought of that too. I don't know if there would be any technical problems in doing that, though.

I don't know. Whatever capsuleman can give you guys, and whatever results in the best overall quality at the end. Worse comes to worse, the final product may have to be distributed to everyone here in parts, or something.

God, we need to get a video tech expert in here.

Regarding the audio thing, I doubt it. As long as its timed properly, it should work. Of course, it depends. Which is why I'm gonna test this right now. *Goes to lab to perform...experiments*

And the video..I suppose it depends on what capsuleman can give us. Although if anything, it should be a good around encode. And I doubt it'll be distributed to everyone in parts, highly doubt it =)
