If 17 and 18 fuse into that horrible design from Heroes than that's it, I'm quitting Super. That would be the last straw that breaks the camels back for me. Also what gender would they be? A boy and girl fusing would make them transgendered wouldn't it?

Could be the Cyborg parts of their brain to remember things more clearly and quicky then the human basic brain, so I can see that being apart of it.
Again who knows, I rather not give an OR on this yet, lets just see where it goes.

They didn't split up. Piccolo ditched Gohan because he was tired of losing limbs when protecting Gohan .

Impossible. What Dragon Ball Heroes has is Super 17 absorbing Android 18, which means you'll see more of Super 17 with some things from Android 18 (blonde hair, in this case). Metamoran fusion will generate the Metamoran clothes and the appearance itself is unknown, we'll have to wait and see. Although I think that image is fake.
As for gender (does it really matter what gender is?), the only thing we know comes from one of those 2014 interviews that Toriyama says that a fusion between a male and a female might result in a drag-queen (for gag purposes obviously. I don't think a fusion between Lapis and Lazuli would be treated as a gag thing so it might have a completely different appearance from a drag-queen).

Not only that, but the Goku picture on the bottom right of the "leak" is this render that's been around for a long while now. Literally is one of the first images that pop up when you search "Goku" on Google.
Awww shucks, was really hoping this one turned out to be true. Would really like a fusion from the twins (have no idea what Heroes version looks like)

I got super hype when I first saw that image, too bad it seems to be rumors and lies. 17, 18 fusion would be ridiculously powerful and thematically awesome. I would love it.
It`s likely fake but it wouldn`t surprise me one bit. They`re not shying from making characters as powerful as they want. If they aren`t doing to any of the mains is just because they don`t want/care to. It`s not on their radar.

I don't see how it could be based off that as Super 17 has a completely different design from current 17.
I'm happy it's fake (it could still happen) as the design would be a mess regardless of what they based it off. 2 completely different genders using the dance shouldn't work as according to Goku back in the Buu arc, both have to be as similer as possible. one being male and the other female makes them very different, unless the writers don't know that which is an entirely different problem.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
