The number of titles with Saiya-jin in them makes me wonder if this new game is reseting the roster again.

If this ends up being the case, then I will be officially done with all Dragon Ball Z video games, 2003-2011, this is enough.

I'm getting tired of them resetting everything, they take out things and then add new things, which is why this nearly 10 year old string of 3 dimensional DBZ games never progress.

I'm against any title that has "Saiyan" in the title. This game likely doesn't focus around the Saiyans in particular any more than any other DBZ game, so it doesn't make much sense to me.

Also, "Tenkaichi Z" is "redundantly redundant" as VegettoEX would say... think about it, "Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Z" sounds so corny and redundant.

So, through the process of elimination, we can establish that "Ultimate Tenkaichi" is the only title that makes any sense at all, which is a shame, even though it is fucking stupid. It's probably not a sequel (who knows, it might be... but sequels in Dragon Ball games are scantly as different as this appears to the PS2/Wii games), but a side-game. I just think that "Ultimate Tenkaichi" sounds bad because it's combining an American world with a Japanese word... though it actually makes sense in translation... "Ultimate Meeting of the Strongest Under the Heavens". In that case, why not "Kyūkyoku no Tenkaichi"? Meh.

I voted on Ultimate Tenkaichi, because it's the only title that ties in the whole franchise. Plus, like others have stated, I hate having Saiyan in the title. Though it's probably true, it suggests that the game only cares about the Sayians; HEY IT'S LIKE TOEI AND THEIR TREATMENT OF THE ANIME! I smell a pattern here.

Seeing how both RB games sold poorly that I think picking Ultimate Tenkaichi will be pick as the main title to help rise sales. I think the Sparking games sold well in the US due to the Budokai title slap on to them.

I chose "Ultimate Tenkaichi" because I thought it just sounded better then the rest of them. I wrote in the text box that I would rather have it titled "Budokai Tenkaichi IV" since I think it would be a better marketing strategy (think Grand Theft Auto IV and Street Fighter IV).

Problem with calling it BT4 is that I think this game won't have a larger roster than BT3 and considering that is what the first games are known for among other things.

GTA III: San Andreas had far more things to do than GTA IV, and it still sold well. MK vs DC had watered down fatalities, and still sold well. Shit, MvC 3 has less characters than MvC 2 and surpassed it in sales.
You could argue RB, but those two had low scores and practically no ads.

But BT 1-3 were known for their large rosters or had the rep for it at least and I bet you when people hear BT4 they expect a larger roster than BT3.

As for those other series, I don't play them(I regrettable bought Mvc2 though and gladly threw it away) and I don't participate in their fandom so idk what rep those games had besides having a large buyer base.

The RB series seemed like a unsuccessful restart to me, but thats another discussion.

Or simply, "Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi 4/IV" with edgy, minimalistic advertising... I would be oddly okay with that title. Why not "Tenkaichi Neo" for some quaint slyness?
