About creating another topic... I don't think this discussion will be long, don't worry.
It will be if you keep piping in.

Not that I mind usually but, it seems that if the forum administrator wants to get back on topic we should.

Of course, these discussions are Budokai related, so I'm honestly torn.

And as far as exciting Budokai 3 news, there isn't much going around right now, which isn't necessarily a good reason to waver off topic, but it also means there's not much substance to springboard off on.

So therefore I propose the following question:

What was everyone's opinion on the Gamespot "Preview Review" video thing with the really dull guy?

I couldn't keep my eyes open during it, but I'm sure some of you found some interesting tidbits. And if you have, please share them for those of us with ADD.

S, I think they mean that Soul Calibur II is more deep story-wise... but yes, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter II are deeper in content.
Okay... if that's what they really mean, they're more screwed up in the head than I thought...

And who the Hell is that damned puppy Pan is holding? He/she's in the opening to Final Bout, too! Did Bee do the dirty doggie dance and that's his offspring or something?

Am I the only one that doesn't see this series going in any particular direction? I think what they should do is make three more Budokai games: one for the movies and TV specials, one for DB, and one for GT.

For those who haven't been able to get access to the Gamespot opening video, here is an mp3 version of the opening.

I don't recall any puppies in GT, so I think it IS Bee, which is bizzare and weird, but hey, why not? Pan is cute, puppies are cute, Pan+puppy=really cute! If only Pan was going to be a playable character...but then I'd have to listen to her dub voice, which is one of the few dub voices that really manages to annoy me.

I don't see why Pan's voice annoys you; it sounds pretty much the same as the japanese voice actress, so unless it's just Pan that annoys you in general...

That's interesting...so then 100% powered Freeza is stronger than Meta Coola? Perhaps the characters are customized, and Freeza had more strength in that particular move.

Yeah. Freeza could have been trained up to stronger than Cooler plus he may have had other capsules set and/or a double capsule for that move (assuming it's not Dragon Lash).

Actually, I think that is Freeza's/Cooler's Dragon Lash finish. In one of the interviews, a guy from Dimps stated that the many charachters share Dragon Lash finish animations, and, for the attacks before the last one, there are only two sets of animations. Also, it's obviously not Freeza's ultimate, so, it's probably Dragon Lash

Does this image hint that we will be able to play as Cell Jr. and Saibaman?

Believe so. If you think about it, they were essentially complete playable characters in the last game; they had all their own moves, designs... you just couldn't actually play as them. With Budokai 3 being little more than expanding upon previous character models, it makes sense to just throw them in as little extra characters to play as... very little work to do.

I don't think that screen shot meant that you would be able to play as Saibamen, or Cell Jr's. More likely it was a list of characters you have to fight during the "Build Up" mode. The new screenshots are awesome though, Yi Xing Long actually looks cool as a playable character, as opposed to his role in GT.

Actually, that appears to be the 'stats' screen for all of your characters. Which means that they are playable.

So wait, is Chibi Goku REALLY confirmed? And if so, are there any screenshots of him?

No, I love Pan...in Japanese. I don't know that my objection to her US VA has any basis in fact or reality, and it may be that in this instance any voice that isn't her Japanese voice (which I really love) might disappoint me. In any case, to get back on topic, I wish she was in the game rather than just in the menus for it...oh well, Budokai 4 maybe.
