Ah, I wasn't aware that the Vita version got hosed. It IS a decent price, so there's that. Looks like I'll be sticking with PS3 for now, though.

I'd hold off on any potential preorder because I've read some conflicting reports. Apparently the demo on Vita only features English VO in EU (I haven't played that version) but that goes against this.

This really does look quite nice if only for the figure itself.

It's disappointing that they're demanding £80 for this because the game isn't worth that much (perhaps £10-£15 tops) and the figure is purchasable separately (£30-35, I guess). And lastly, what a shame Namco Bandai didn't even include a steelbook case (like they've done for RB1) for this exaggerated price. :?

Is it confirmed that you can NOT unlock SSj Bardock/SSj Vegito without pre-ordering yet?

That's what a DLC is.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Super Saiyan Prime wrote:While I agree that the lack of cross-play is a mistake, I won't say that means the Vita version is inferior on that basis alone. It appears that the demo was more popular on Vita in North America than on PS3 (look at the differences in ratings), so there could be a decently sized online community. Ultimately some may value portability, local multiplayer (the only version of the game to support that feature), the lower price point and Vita's form factor/control scheme over the graphical upgrade, marginal additional content, and larger community that the console versions boast.

Personally speaking, I'm bummed about the DLC situation. I couldn't care less about Super Saiyan Bardock, or Sage Goku but I don't understand why that content isn't in the North American Vita version when we know it exists on that platform elsewhere. A character like Super Vegetto shouldn't even be DLC. The voice track stuff also disappoints me, but to a lesser extent. I understand that Vita games have a file size limit and that no Vita version has been designed to support two audio tracks, but I would've preferred Namco Bandai released the alternate track as even paid DLC rather than omit it entirely.

This reminds me, a few months ago I brought up Gundam Breaker. I mistakenly attributed that game's development to Artdink. It was actually developed by Crafts & Meister, the studio behind Super Dragon Ball Z. Artdink did develop a Gundam game on Vita, but that was a year or so earlier.
it's a demo, i downloaded it for ps3, ps3 again in japanese and for psvita in european: because it's free. Being an online based game (not ONLY, but big part of it), i can't see any reason to buy it for vita. I also heard that someone tried both version online (the same person i mean) and the vita version had higher lag etc.

The Energy Gauge only has 4 parts on Vita whereas it has 5 on PS3/360

A pretty pointless change
energy gauge? Can you explain this please? I don't get it

The Energy/Genki gauge in the middle top of the screen.

Vita only has 4 sections and PS3/360 has 5

Since it fills up your ki gauge and adds a new ki limit for every section filled up there can't be cross play unless they change it.

Guy on Playstation Trophies.org confirms that there is no Offline vs CPU mode(outside of the story/mission mode obviously). He got the game early

And here is his trophy list for BoZ(to help confirm he has the game)

Well can't say I'm surprised. The game screams online fights, it's just odd to not have offline as an option. Although, from my experience in the demo, if you do an online mode with just one other person and they drop out, technically you'll only be playing CPUs... if that's any constellation.

Eh not suprised, and it's alright. I spend more time in other stuff than a vs mode anyway. I for one hope that the mission mode will be somewhat like Budokai 2 where it has multiple paths. It seems this game almost has the same thing.

Have you played the PS3 demo online? I have. I do NOT want to play with PSVita users, when PS3 vs PS3 is already such a gamble on how the match will run without connection issues.
Super Saiyan Prime wrote:NBGI America is deciding that apparently Vita owners don't deserve the Sage Naruto costume, or Super Vegetto (!), and Super Saiyan Bardock. Watch them become available as paid DLC after the contract with the US retailers expire.
Actually, Vita users are pretty much screwed on that one. The Goku costume for Naruto in UNS3, from the same day 1 edition deal, was never released separately along with the other costumes and wasn't even included in the Full Burst remastered, re-packaged, re-release thing that included every released costume and PC users are never getting that costume either.

That's what a DLC is.
So this is truly a now confirmed flop. Okay. No reason to waste time here then.

Looks like somebody else got the game early too. Here's some SSJ2 Goku gameplay! http://youtu.be/hDeCgEikq50

Seems like this game is becoming one of those games that are like this; the harder the difficulty is, the funner it gets most of the time. However doesn't make any sense having any Saibamen around the Broly mission, though at this point, it doesn't really matter anymore cuz we've played through the story TOO MUCH that's okay to have nonsense like this now!

Instant Transmission appears to have a limited range.

Though it will give him an advantage against Ki Blast characters that won't see him coming.

Super Saiyan 2 Goku looks fun to play as, so this is a 100% Day 1 buy/pre-order for me. Also, the constantly respawning Saibamen in that mission seem like they'll be a pain in the ass, but they'll make it easier for the player to get his/her SP up. Sucks that the guy lost though.

I guess it's like on Raging Blast 2, which had an achievement award rewarded after playing with all 100 characters.

RB2's gameplay was actually enjoyable and fun to play unlike this.
