"Season" Seven, Full-Size Version: http://shop.funimation.com/core/media/m ... 6fd9f62b87

"Season" Eight, Full-Size Version: http://shop.funimation.com/core/media/m ... bdfbe6d7d0

What a missed opportunity. If they're going to show people donating their Genki across all three covers, why not show the actual characters? ChiChi, Kuririn, Yamcha, etc? That'd have been way cooler. It would have been a great way to say "goodbye" to everyone.

On the other hand, I'm glad that blonde red-tube-top girl, the real star of the show, is finally on a front cover where she belongs.

FUNi never puts Yamcha or Tenshinhan on the covers.

No love for the B-Team.

Hmm...I dunno, I'm conflicted. On the one hand, it would be a great way to have a lot of characters on the cover that never were, but at the same time...it IS a really big plot point that the Earth is finally saved thanks to the contributions of even the normal people, so I do like seeing that played up a bit. Would maybe have been better if they'd done a mixture of the two though.

What I want to know is why the hell all of the people are slanted like that. It looks ridiculous and pointless.

Considering the more casual audience Funimation tries to appeal to, I doubt they'll draw them in with sub main characters.

Well, for DBZ yes, but they could have been on the DB Blue Bricks at least.

The aritst tried to make it look like a photo taken with a wide-angle lens, but miserably failed because the background isn't drawn that way and the people are tilted only horizontally. Also, that guy with sunglasses is oddly placed. Why is he flying?

In short, the artist sucks.

Stupid and bad just like the rest of the covers, but this is honestly the best art these sets have had yet. Great Saiyaman and Majin Vegeta don't look bad and since these covers have single characters taking up a large amount of room in the center, they each provide a decent point of interest for once. I might have even liked the idea of everyone donating energy to the Genki Dama were it not for the asinine placements. Why not just have them lined up along the bottom?
This is the episode of when Gokuh enrages himself after Freezer talk shit about Kuririn

Whoa, Fairy Tail shipping twice with DBZ S8 on the same day, got some saving up top do.

Badass S8 cover btw. Hopefully Vegetto will be on S9 with SS3 Goku.
Edit-

Here's some of the promo art for S8 they're using if anyone is interested:

Of all things to complain about, the covers? Sure these Blu-Rays have problems, but I don't think the covers are that big a deal.

Really like this cover except for the blonde (who's she?) and that other woman who's face is covered with "Season Seven", god, this is so bloody random it's not even funny.

I don't get why the ginger is floating in the air and taking Son's place as if he was the one building up the Genki Dama, and also, is that Kuririn on the bottom right (they also covered the face with "Season Eight"). Lastly, is that a Gohan impersonator on the bottom mid-left?

Well, it's important to also analyse the artistic value of the covers otherwise you could just go with the digital format (if it existed) rather than the Blu-rays.

For example, Battle of Z cover has three Gokus (1x God, 1x Super Saiyan, 1x Base) and seemed like they didn't put much effort as the characters on the cover looked like a bunch of stickers randomly placed. The temp cover with God Goku was a better choice for Battle of Z than this one (imo).

For those of us who endured this same fiasco in 2007 and have already exhausted our energy to complain about cropping and poor restoration techniques, the covers (and bonus features) are the only interesting things left to bother discussing.

Making comments or discussing the quality of the artwork does not equate to 'complaining'. It's just a talking point that avoids the monotony of talking about the visual fidelity of the product.

If you don't care to talk about it then don't. There's no need to belittle others thoughts instead.

Um... do some of you guys not realize that the random people are supposed to represent all the Earthlings donating to the Spirit Bomb? It looks like there's going to be a bunch of them spread across all the Boo arc covers.
