I love seeing Goku and Vegeta together! All of their interactions and lines were hilarious. Good stuff!

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Running commentary as I watch it:
I liked the "I don't see that happening" jokes in the beginning about Namekians.
I couldn't clearly hear what Yajirobe said when they saw the Big Ghetti Star.
The title screen was pretty cool-looking, how did you do that effect?
"Oh no my face!" LOL
I like how Goku can understand the robot language
"Dammit, I'm becoming Krillin"
I actually forgot the fact that Goku used Kaio-Ken in this movie.
"That sounds like something Goku would say" "Yes, and remember that time you've never beaten him" LMAO. Of course if you count the Raditz fight he kind of did...
And I thought of the "Big Ghetto Star" pun first a few years ago
I was expecting Cooler to say "as a matter of fact, it isn't", but Vegeta kicked him first.
Love the repeating scene of Vegeta getting knocked away.
Ave Maria is a weird choice for Vegeta getting kicked in the crotch, but it somehow works.
I hope in the next movie Vegeta mocks Goku for getting hit in the crotch as a callback to this movie.
Hah, that was a Futurama reference?
Strangely appropriate closing song too.

Abrupt, rude as hell by comparison, with an air of tiredness. Not sure you can get much else from what's simultaneous an unnecessary sequel and the dumbest story in the franchise.

Loved getting to see this with the crowd at A-Kon. There were quite a few laugh-out-loud moments.
This was definitely an improvement over the last movie you guys did.

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I noticed you guys used "Beerus's Wrath" from the Battle of Gods score for the part just before Gohan saves the "f--- some face" Namekian. Any particular reason it wasn't listed in the music credits?
(Just asking, because sometimes a music cue will crop up in a TFS episode that will drive me berserk because I can't place where I know it from, and just my luck, it's usually the one cue that gets neglected in the music credits.)

BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I always find it amazing that you guys can recut a limited amount of existing footage into something coherent, let alone funny. Were there ever any sequences or gags that you really wanted to do but simply couldn't because of a limitation in the original material?
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I don't really have a productive comment to add that hasn't already been mentioned but I've never actually seen DBZ Movie 6. I can't decide if I want to after this

WOOHOO! Definitely good news to come back to, heh.KaiserNeko wrote:NIW! HAAAHAHAHAHAAAGyt Kaliba wrote:So any idea when this movie will hit the Youtube channel? ^_^;
Edit: And just got through watching it finally! All of the 'Freeza did it' stuff actually really amused me, though I can sort of see why it may have been a bit much for some people. Also was cool finally seeing Vegeta in one of these, still think it's kind of weird how it took them that long to get him into one of the movies back when the original versions were first being made.
...And I hate to be 'that guy', but I feel like I'm missing something. What's with the baby Namekian at the end?

But for real, it's from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The movie makes a direct visual reference to it, actually.

...Oh. Well that would explain why I didn't get it then. ^_^; Hey, in my defense, I'm the guy that actually didn't even see like...JAWS...until a year or so ago. I'm a classic movie heathen in some cases.

Almost all of Kubrick's films from his UK era are a must-see in film.

Yooo, I love this stuff.
I'm dead from laughter right now, and I really dug the 2001 reference.
That and for. Some reason, idk if it's just the voice or what, but the face fucker guy just drives me to hysterical laughter

On that note, I remember Piccolo getting the shit kicked out of him by Cooler in the "footage from the original", only being saved by that particular Metal Cooler randomly exploding right before it killed him, but that was left out here.FoolsGil wrote:Let's all remember that abridged series use footage from the original. If abridged Piccolo is looking too awesome , that's because he is awesome in canon. duh.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

That raises the question then - will we ever see another Deleted Scenes video? Or are there not that many to go around? I know there were a few concerning Krillin's death (and Yamcha's too, I suppose!) but they were a long while ago now.KaiserNeko wrote:100% for time and pacing reasons.

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Hey, nice Foodfight reference! It's good that you can look at something, look past all the terrible stuff in it, and see the very few moments of actual good in something. It's like with The Room! Everyone seems to get so caught up in all the directorial blunders, goofy performances, poor pacing and editing, and all of that, that they miss the heart and passion that it was made with, and also the rather interesting and unique message that it has...
Not that I'm saying Foodfight had any of that. That movie was, indeed, really bad (well, except for Mr. Clipboard. He was amazing!). But, I'm just saying, good on you for analyzing things critically rather than going with the crowd!

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I finally got to watch it, and, i really enjoyed it, loved "Hit it really hard" tactic, and Metal Cooler keep sending Vegeta fly away, i also noticed, that in just 42 episodes, you are already at 141 episode of DBZ, even with Majin Buu Saga, you should keep it under 100.
