I honestly don't feel like the lack of Gohan getting a KFC bottle really means he has nothing to do in the movie. It's just a KFC bottle for a kids meal promotion.

It's not that he's not important enough, but look at the bottle again. You have Goku(the hero), Vegeta and Piccolo(the rivals), Krillin(the Best friend), Bulma(female appeal), Goten and Trunks(for the kids) and Buu(the last villian). Not only do they all have a role to play but they also all sum up Dragonball from start to finish. That and they were probably the top most popular characters across all demographics. It sucks that Gohan didn't get a bottle, but come on...it's a KFC happy meal toy.

Even though I'm hoping it's new stuff, I recall the last WJ update was rehashed stuff and they saved the new plot-info (what little was revealed) for VJump.

Buzzing... Neither Gohan's popularity isn't enough for BoG promotion and the film itself (even he kicked-ass in the Cell Games arc as well).

So good Gohan, we'll see if you and your daughter, Pan could make up for future DB promotions in Japan.

I wonder what the most recent popularity poll for DB characters was, and what the rankings were.

I know Forever had one (Gohan came in 3rd), but that's actually starting to get old by now. I'm not sure if there's a more recent poll.

But then, if I look at the numbers themselves, 3rd isn't all that much when 1st place has about 4000 more votes than 3rd.

For reference, DB Forever's poll says:

Piccolo hasn't been the rival in a very long time. They could easily have included Gohan as 'the successor' (to Goku).

I've currently got four guesses for that last figure:
-new form for Birusu, Uisu, OR Goku
-the counterpart to Birusu (Toribot?)
