Interestingly enough, that error is also in the Japanese version of Z (in the actual Japanese dialogue, not just the subtitles).SSJ Electric Fury wrote:In FUNi Kai, another notable error is present where Roshi states the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai took place five years after the 21st. He said the exact same thing in the Z dub, too. Back in 2000, It was understandable since they hadn't dubbed Dragon Ball yet and had near incomprehensible scripts. They really should've known better in 2011, however. I hope he doesn't still say the battle with Tien ended in a draw...SSJ Electric Fury wrote:In FUNi Kai, another notable error is present where Roshi states the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai took place five years after the 21st. Does the dub state this too?

Do you guys think FUNi will release DB and GT in this same Blu-ray format?

It won't surprise if they do. It will likely be the next step after DBZ. They blu-rays of DBZ Movie 1-13 are still in print. It's unlikely they will do another blu-ray sets of DBZ Movie 1-13. I can see them doing a DBZ Movie box set of Dead Zone - Battle of Gods later down in the line.

I hope so. That would give me an incentive to rebuy the whole series on Blu-Ray.
My DVD Season Sets are pretty worn, some episodes on a few discs glitch and don't work at certain points.
Slightly off topic but how is the quality of the Blu-Ray Movies?

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
Thing is, for DB and GT, they only have digital video-masters. Which are set at 480p, as well as presumably having no extra footage on any sides. (Heck, the DB season-sets were apparently zoomed in from the old DVD-footage, so they had even less footage...) In order to do anything with those shows on BluRay, other than just upscaling their rather poor DVD-transfers, they'd have to get new masters on film from Toei. I'm not sure they'd be willing to go to that length. For Z however, they actually had film-prints available, which gave them far more freedom with the footage, allowing them to create a proper HD-master, extending the total amount of image one gets on all sides and so on... They don't have that freedom for the other two series. Plus, from what I understood those two never sold as well as Z either, so I doubt there'll be a BluRay-release of those.Dbzfan94 wrote:Do you guys think FUNi will release DB and GT in this same Blu-ray format?

If we could get Blu-rays of Dragonball or GT that'd be great! I'd much rather them release the Dragon-box footage of them though.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Oh ok that makes a lot of sense. But it's a shame that here in America, DB is really overshadowed by Z. They're both great, I can't prefer one over the other.Vegard Aune wrote:Thing is, for DB and GT, they only have digital video-masters. Not just in the US, even in Japan Z overshadows the original. That's the whole reason why they skipped it in Kai. So much for manga-accurate.Dbzfan94 wrote:

Awesome. thanks bud! I was wondering what the back would look like.
I'm hoping to pick mine up here around 2 weeks or earlier. Hopefully the prices won't shoot up on me which I'm expecting.

Awww man was hoping they'd use SS2 Gohan on the back. Still an awesome shot of Cell. And glad they're still region B compatible too!

The Dragon Box / Saga Sets (Dragon Ball) and Dragon Box GT / Singles (Dragon Ball GT) give quite a good impression of what they'd look like in HD, which is to say, spectacular but since FUNimation doesn't have the media of it to remaster in HD you're out of luck.Black_Anime_Fan wrote:Imagine a Dragonball or GT Blu-ray release with Level-Set quality though.
Even if they did, they'd try to ruin it too by what they've done to Dragon Ball Z through these Season Blu-ray volumes.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

Wow... that drawing of Cell is incredibly awkward.rs_chaosmaster wrote:And here are two more
