Yeah. That's what is worse. SS Vegetto and SS Bardock are going to be released as paid DLC for Japan, not long from now. There are no plans to do so, as of right now, for the other countries though.

I too think the game's average at best, but COME ON people! This ain't wonderland. Sometimes a couple years ain't enough for some games too, as many people here said this a million times now. I say if Ultimate Tenkaichi didn't exist and this game's development started back around late 2010, this would had less hate than it's getting. And what's wrong with some characters now having ultimates? Goten doesn't have an ultimate but does anyone give a shit? Bills not having one is a bummer but gimme a break with that nitpick.

Wow...
Aren't like, their Gundam games average as well? Because if you're talking about the Gundam VS games, ZBR says hi.
Also the problem isn't that characters have ultimates, it's the fact that Broly got one and Beers(you know, that guy that is being promoted in the Box Art and the opening?) didn't.

Hence why I said "transform from this to that" from that company, NOT from Capcom. And I also agree that it's a bummer that Bills doesn't have an ultimate, but complaining about everyone not having ultimates is ridiculous. I belive this time Namco is only appealing to the Japanese because over there Artdink is somewhat critically acclaimed for the stuff they do. It ain't the only company though. (OmegaForce)

I'm neutral about this game and think it's average, but it's annoying to see people complaining about the same stuff over and over, like, we get it.

Loving the game, it's quite different from the Budokai Tenkaichi and Raging Blast games. I'm still disappointed that there isn't any offline co-op or multi-player but if anyone has it on the Xbox 360 please message me your Gamertag, mine is SSJ3_Zack

So I made a rebuttal/debrief video on what exactly Battle of Z is. The entire game's not out yet but I still think this will help explain it to people that are interested and upset about the lack of charging, in-game transformations, and expecting other staples from past iterations of DBZ games.

Let me know what you think about this, and I hope it paints the game in a better light than Namco Ba-... Bandai Namco's advertising campaign.

I'm surprised no one else is as concerned as I am about this issue, but while I was watching a playthrough the Frieza Saga portion, I couldn't help but notice that Vegeta was wearing the dark-blue, shoulder-pad-less armor from towards the end of the Ginyu Saga up until the the beginning of the Trunks Saga:
Image
This outfit happens to be my favorite for Vegeta, but unfortunately as I was scanning across the character roster for this title to see if I missed this iteration of the character, it was no where to be seen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's only 4 playable versions of Vegeta in this game- and the "Frieza Saga Vegeta," although he clearly appears in the Frieza Saga portion of Story Mode, complete with his own "side-lines character emotion icons" and everything:Image
...is not one of them. Please tell me he is an exception with alternate costumes, because if not it leaves me no choice but to choose the Saiyan Saga Vegeta as the normal base form Vegeta. I don't have a problem with this particular design (Saiyan Saga Vegeta) in the cartoon, but in this game he looks pretty ugly in my honest opinion. It looks like the Buu Saga artstyle but dressed in the Saiyan Saga garb. The scouter is a real eyesore to me and the tail (also an eyesore) wouldn't make too much sense if I'm fighting Cell or Majin Buu, or any villain for that matter past the Saiyan Saga.

Can anybody who owns the game already tell me whether or not this Vegeta is playable after some sort of unlock or something? From the looks of it this doesn't seem so. Frustrating.

European PlayStation Store listings:
Vita (1.4GB) - https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork. ... TPACKAGE01
PS3 (1.9GB) - https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork. ... TPRODUCT01

Japanese PlayStation Store listings:
Vita (1.5GB) - https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork. ... TPACKAGE01
PS3 (2.0GB) - https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork. ... TPRODUCT01

It doesn't look like the game's up on Xbox Live.

The game really can't be this small, right? So much for the Japanese audio getting axed due to Vita size constraints ...

According to the anime, the boots (and the blue undershirt) signify training with Kami. Krillin also wore those boots in the Cell Saga.

I totally get what you're trying to say, but in regard to the transformation issue, you don't really explain why the mechanics couldn't be incorporated, but instead just explain what they've tried to do instead. I've seen a lot of people come out with arguments such as 'technical restrictions prevented the inclusion of transformations', which frankly, seem lurid as a theory, as the decision itself is clearly a creative one by Artdink. The thing is, I wouldn't actually have a problem with it if it actually benefited the game greatly or made any real sense - neither of which it does.

I don't understand the functional or logistical reasoning behind allotting different forms for each character to different class types, I mean - what's the point? What's the actual benefit to the gamer? To make it so that you make a team with all of X character's forms that can still function cooperatively? I don't buy into that vision at all. They've tried to make a selling point of the fact you can customise characters, so why not let the player make the choice and equip his character with the cards required to make it fall under a class type. Why does Goku have to be a melee type? Why not leave that choice to the player? That kind of thinking would make sense when compared with MMORPG mechanics and I could buy into that logic, but again - that's not what Ardink have gone with in practice and it feels like a nonsensical half-measure.

I think the comparison you make to MMORPG combat is an interesting one, but nevertheless, I've seldom played an MMORPG with such limited and restricted move sets for a character. Even if one takes the class system into account, the ability of a given character comes down to, more or less, 4 or 5 moves - practically one attack per move-type. Even in MMORPG combat there's a level of complexity brought in by a wide range of attacks, allowing people to think tactically, combine attack types and mix things up - but Battle of Z on the other hand is incredibly dumbed-down in comparison. What we're essentially left with are a set of schizophrenic game mechanics that don't quite know what they want to be, and fail to pull far enough in any one direction to function effectively. It's a mess

But look - I get your salient points, I totally hear you - it's not a fighting game despite being marketed as one, but even when considered in a different light, such as a multi-player brawler - it's still not a good one. It's a clunky, ham-fisted, scatter-brained and poorly executed mess.

English version of Godku vs. Beerus and Whis:
http://youtu.be/zjerYwa6UwA

He titled the video as Bills, which makes no sense to me. The reason being 'It's his Japanese name' (which seems irrelevant on the dub video). Even though, it really isn't based on the whole (beer and/or virus puns). Thank god for Kanzenshuu, is all I can say. YouTube, etc. it gets annoying having to explain why Bills makes no sense in regards to the pun and whoever replying doesn't seem to get it. It shouldn't bother me, but I don't understand why people are so vehemently against the official romanization when in every other case they would use FUNimation's names.

EDIT: It's been changed to Beerus now.

Tenkaichi 1 was bad but this is even worse, one really has to wonder what was going on through those two years spent on for this.

Perhaps they used they focused on making all characters run on the ground and try to imitate how characters appear on Zenkai Battle Royale (their emotions and stuff).
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

Now that we've got more English video of Beerus in the game, have we happened to get an official listing for who's playing him yet?

...Hmm. I'm still not sure completely how to feel about Beerus's English voice, but Whis's...the voice itself is fine, but he's sounding a little more nervous than I would expect...
