Whether Raditz blatantly explains his actions or not, him elbowing them from behind after approaching from the front and then Goku & Piccolo freaking out while the coloring goes negative as the episode ends is pretty dramatic as is and sets us up for a great fight in the coming episode.

The negative shots are shown after they hear the other two Saiya-jins are superior to Raditz and I admit that it is a catchy ending for the upcoming episode(s). But a piece of the drama to the situation at hand of how absurdly strong Raditz is, is lost to me. In the original Goku and Piccolo realize already that they can't even put a single punch on this guy. Raditz can also obliterate these two in an instant without breaking a sweat. He actually almost did this with the blast that got Piccolo's arm. Would the two have failed to dodge that one...well, bye bye Piccolo, Goku, Dragonballs and Earth. Lets also not forget that the dialogue I mentioned before is 100% canon that is cut. But it is pretty tedious and I guess in the end it depends on personal taste.

But just so my post isn't completely useless, I actually just watched the second episode subbed (so far I've only seen 'em raw since well... c'mon) with my roomie and a couple neighbors and they were pretty glad to see that Raditz dies by the third episode.
So I guess from an average fan's perspective, Kai's got their seal of approval

Some cuts do leave out "important" information, such as:
- The group's conversation about the Dragon Balls, which tells us that Goku has found two of them besides the one on Gohan's hat.
This information is mostly the reason why Kuririn goes to Goku's house to tell Chi Chi about his death and the reason why Goku knows where Raditz has taken Gohan and how Kamesennin, Bulma and Kuririn know where they were headed.
We already know the story, so it's not that relevant, but those kids in Japan that are unfamiliar with the overall story probably don't even know what the Dragon Radar does.

It was pointed out that Gohan has a Dragonball on his head and shown that Goku was using the Dragon Radar to track down Gohan. So, put two and two together...alakazam^ wrote:This information is mostly the reason why Kuririn goes to Goku's house to tell Chi Chi about his death and the reason why Goku knows where Raditz has taken Gohan and how Kamesennin, Bulma and Kuririn know where they were headed.
Also, in the manga, it doesn't even show Krillin going to Chi-Chi's house. The only mention of going was Kamesen'nin and Bulma asking Krillin to go, and that was just one panel:

Later on, when Chi-Chi shows up it's because Goku and Gohan never came back and knew nothing of their whereabouts. Krillin never actually went over there at all.
So... no more plothole!!B wrote:Yeah, that was filler which will probably be cut.
Also, the Dragon Radar thing is not only A: Obvious as sin (It's called a Dragon RADAR, Son was following it to find Gohan) but B: We'll get an explanation as to what it is later when they head off for Namek, and that's when it's most important anyway.
Honestly, I still maintain that most of the awkwardness people are noticing in the pacing is probably because people are SO used to the old pacing, that this just seems weird to them.

I think the pacing is fantastic compared to the original series. They'll probably become increasingly less cut-happy as the series progresses though.
Krillin, the guy is just a ridiculous midget without nose.Seriously, he looks like some kind of bizarre monster.
Krillin's head is also pretty big like a balloon.

Eh... it gets kinda old hearing elitists say things like "IT SHOULD HAVE ENDED WHEN GOKU MET BULMA"
Maybe he put it aside with his weighted clothes when he took them off. In the manga, he has it until he leaps off of kinto'un, then it's just...gone.Saiyan wrote:If you want to talk about plotholes, how about: what happens to the Dragon Radar after Goku lands to fight Raditz? His body disappears and the Dragon Radar is gone too!
