That's actually not a bad idea, releasing it as a Kai special....
Actually, I'd think that is a bad idea. It has nothing to do with Kai, unless they remaster and crop it in HD, which would be an even worse idea. I mean, it's from some DragonBall Z video games in the mid-90s.
From a Funimation standpoint, it'd be better than saying "Hey, here's a movie from over 10 years ago taking place in during the Cell Saga we never gave ya!" (Assuming it's a stand-alone release not with the DBox).

I'd love it if FUNimation included it, mostly because I'm a bit of a completionist.

Though I'm actually more interested in knowing if the TV specials are going to be on the Z Dragonboxes, or as a seperate "Movies" release.

Knowing Funimation, first one and then the other.

After searching and searching, I finally found a site that had the whole special subbed (I was actually looking for the year-end TV special). I'm not going to share the site, just my opinions:

It was an okay special. The fights just before Goku and the others destroyed the gas sources were a little short. The music really was terrible... it sounds like I'm playing a GameBoy game! The only decent track was the during the ending credits. Another thing I hated was that they showed the characters moving on a game map a lot!

Anyway, it a cool OVA. I would definitely like some kind of home release for it so I can actually own it... That day may never come, though (it did with the Dragon Box, but outside of Japan, nothing).
An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?

Well, yeah. It's based on a Famicom (NES) game.

Well, yeah. It was released as a strategy guide for the Famicom (NES) game.

I remember the first Famicom DBZ RPG as having some good music, actually. I remember the first stage had a really catchy song that I enjoyed listening to during 9th grade, though I can't remember how it goes.
