I agree. This speaks volumes to me about why it was so cleaned up on the Nicktoons clips. FUNimation wouldn't go to the trouble of making two different television versions when they would only have to cut it one way.

Well, this is certainly interesting news. The way I see it, as someone already stated, this release will bring in new fans for the franchise, some of which who will eventually grow to adore the Japanese version just as much as we do. At least we're not in the One Piece predicament from 3 years ago and before, where that was the only English dub release we had.

With that said, I might check this version out sometime just to see how it is, but I'll be sticking to my untainted release of Kai (if and when I get it).

No. CW is owned by CBS and Warner Brothers, while Cartoon Network is owned by Turner Broadcasting System. In fact, the Wiki for Turner Broadcasting System specifically states that it doesn't own those channels:

The company's current assets include CNN, HLN, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, and over-the-air Atlanta station WPCH-17 (formerly WTBS, a near-simulcast of the national TBS). Turner Broadcasting does not include The CW Television Network, HBO and Cinemax.

Ultimate Muscle wasn't that bad, it was a decent 4Kids dub.

You know... I made a list of predictions for this year, and it's this:

My predictions for the year 2010:

• - More Viz delays.
• - FUNimation will at least announce and release three more Dragon Box sets.
• - Dragon Ball DS 2 will be announced for North America, but will exclude the NES game from it, or replace it with the old Dragon Power version.
• - A Sequel for Attack of the Saiyans will be announced.
• - Even more Viz delays, and VegettoEX will be forced to buy the single volumes or borrow them from someone.
• - FUNimation will announce Dragon Box the Movies.
• - A movie with Super Saiyan 3 Broli will be announced and Hujio's nightmare will come true.
• - Viz will cancel the VizBig release and replace it with the Kanzenban release.
• - 4Kids will buy Dragon Ball from FUNimation as a payback for taking One Piece from them.
• - Team Four Star will finaly be able to start Season 2 of DBZ Abridged after several delays.
• - FUNimation will release the Jump Special.
• - FUNimation will release Dragon Ball Kai for Bluray, but it'll be in 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 4:3.
• - Yamcha's episode will be delayed again.

Ultimate Muscle actually did better in the States than it did in Japan. In fact it did well enough that they made a new season for the US that gave a better ending. Hence it is known as the one Jump-based anime that 4Kids didn't screw up. (The non-Jump-based shows don't get a lot of complaints as the Jump-based ones, except Sonic X, though there's a big debate on whether that simply suffered from a bad dub, or if it was just a bad show).

Alright then. In any case, if the show does well on the CW during it's first few seasons then I'm willing to bet Cartoon Network will try to put it back on it's channel. At least, that is my wish.

I never really watched it....but Sonic X looked horrible, dub or not. I saw the ending...and it was...I just didn't like the ending at all.

Certainly.

In fact, Freeza is the red herring of the family, since they had to mimic a terrible voice from the previous cast (which was equally as terrible).

FUNimation's King Cold and Coola voices sound pretty fitting to me.

I read it earlier while in the chat, but I didn't really think about it. I already have Nicktoons, which will probably be the only way that I will see this monstrosity they've made. Since CW4Kids airs on Saturday mornings, I won't see it there with me being a night owl.

I don't see why they would edit it AGAIN, that would just be stupid. This will be the only way I can watch this, as getting Dragonboxes is my main priority.

The previous Ocean dub pretty much copies FUNi's scripts word-for-word. Ocean's terrible memes and jokes came from FUNi's horrible scripts. If they take the route they did last time, then they'll be copying FUni's more accurate scripts. It'll be the altered music and sound effects you have to worry about.
