Yeah, the "Gyarikku" part is based of English and the "Hō" part is Japanese. The Time Traveller wrote:Gallick Gun isn't what Vegeta yells out though, he says Gyarrik-Ho or what ever, it's not like Final Flash or Big Bang Attack where he actually says it in English.Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote: Likewise, Gallick/Garlic Gun, Big Bang attack, Final Flash, and Final Shine all have English names as opposed to attacks like Kienzan, Kamehameha, ect, to make them sound more foreign to Japanese audiences.

Just a correction to a previous post.... Madman should stop changing things that don't need changing haha

I Agree. But with the annoyance I get from Madman's releases recently I'm considering importing instead from now on. HahaPiccolo Daimaoh wrote:Yes, I do. Really? I actually liked how Madman put both movies on one disk for the double features. I would've liked the double features in steelbooks though, but I pretty sure Madman doesn't release them. I agree with you on the stupid spine labels though, I don't know how someone didn't notice that.GFGuldo wrote:Just a correction to a previous post.... As I said above, the spine labels are fucking frustrating. But there's nothing wrong with the disks and the actual video, so I'm cool.GFGuldo wrote:I Agree. I just realised that the Funi Dragon Boxes will have 42 discs in total. Dragon Ball has 42 volumes in total.

Anyway, my most recent memorable Dragon Ball-related epiphany was a few months ago when, in a moment of inspiration, I realized that Planet Pital from GT got its name from the word "hospital."

The numbers apply to DBZ as well:
4 = The four star dragonball
8 = Android #8, a character of much debate on weather being artifical or cyborg.
Also on the Viz manga, both kid Goku and Gohan appear on the spine of volume #8 of DB and DBZ respectively.
15 = In the anime, the 15th episode involves someone escaping/running away:
DB: Launch was running from the cops
DBZ: Gohan builds a boat to escape from Piccolo and see his mom
DBGT: Pan runs away after Trunks suggests taking her back to Earth
DBK: Yajarobe flees after cutting off Vegeta’s tail.
16 = Android #16, a character of much debate on weather it was revived after the Cell arc.
Also in the Viz manga, Dragon Ball ends in volume #16.
23= The tournament where Goku proposes to Chi Chi.
42= The total number of volumes of the Dragon Ball/Z manga

Actually, I will import things that will be released.Yes, I do. However if the item that I want is available/coming to Australia, why would I import it? This is the case for most Dragon Ball related item that I want.
Partly because apparently there is quality loss in Madman's transfers, and also the prices are generally better.
You can import the first Kai Blu-Ray set for like $35AUS at the moment, while at EzyDVD (where it's not out for another month), it's $65.

Re: Dragonball Stuff You've Just Realized
I just realized Funimation gives all of the extras in the anime pretty funny names and puts them in the credits. It's really fun to see what they named the side characters.

Re: Dragonball Stuff You've Just Realized
I just realised that "Pony Canyon" is made up of the words "pony", meaning a small horse, and "canyon", as in those big things Wile E Coyote falls into.
Seriously.
I just made that connection.
WTF is wrong with me.

That is pretty awesome, although it would be much more so if it wasn't just the DBZ section that had 42 discs compared to the entire manga's 42 volumes, if you catch my drift. The Tori-bot wrote:I just realised that the Funi Dragon Boxes will have 42 discs in total. I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I just realized that the anime premiered on TV 5 days after the first Legend of Zelda game was released (LoZ~February 21, 1986, DB~February 26, 1986). What an epic week that was....

You just realised that? It's pretty damn obvious that Zoro is played by Mr. Sabat in the FUNimation One Piece dub.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:I've just realized the English VA for Piccolo and Zoro is Chris Sabat! and the two characters always been coupled on merchandises and commercials!
