Or the whole Humphrey Bogart impersonation/actual MENTION of the name between Gohan and Kuririn. I mean some things you just close your eyes and shake your head for.

Which episode was this from? That's really weird....

Also, another is from FUNimation's dub of Z movie 3 during Goku's final confrontation with Tullece, where he says "I have the power of nature inside!"

Even people who are fans of FUNimation's English dub of the series are having a good time poking fun at (and at its expense) some of the ridiculous script changes. That's all there is to it. Trying to put words in the mouths of others for your own agenda is silly. Stop it.

It's not in this specific thread, but why does the line "Here, you might want to keep it as a back scratcher" get so much flack?

Frieza is a dick. It's a dick line, mocking Nail who is screaming in pain while Frieza is laughing his ass off. I don't see why the line gets so much hate? It's not really out of character, it shows how much of a prick Frieza is... which he is, lol.

JP Freeza was never really one to make jokes at all, though. He's pretty much always dead serious, all business. So it kinda is out of character.

Freeza is a serious character, but as we saw in the battle against Goku and the others, he took pleasure in causing pain to others, so I don't think it's out of character for him to make a joke like that. He tried messing with the heroes' heads when he was saying, "I have so much power now...I may not be able to control it...", and then even went back to it as he was spearing Kuririn. A lot of villains like to joke. Actually, I wouldn't call Freeza serious. He only got really serious after he found out Nail was stalling for time so Kuririn and Gohan could get their wish with the Dragon Balls.

That is taunting. I don't recall a single instance where he outright makes a joke in the original. He's always cracking jokes in the dub, and seems to think he's a comedic genius judging from the "Ahahaha! A back-scratcher! Where do I come up with this stuff!?".

Well, whatever, I don't think it's inappropiate. If he was cracking jokes all the time, then it would be inappropiate, since Freeza's not a comedian.

It's been immortalized in my sig since I've joined.

Speaking of sigs, Son Geeko's is reminiscent of one of the worst (and thus, best) lines in the dub. The dub writers were clearly just having fun with that line.

I understand what you mean though, with the fact that he toys with them and taunts them during the fight. I just think that the lines in the original sound sadistic and threatening in a way, with the fact that he makes light of his violent acts and tries to mess with their minds as he does so, but in the dub I just think he comes across as a typical, Saturday morning cartoon villain.

Another horribly inappropriate line from Freeza in the dub is "Round and round the monkey goes, if he should stop, then OFF with his nose! HAHAHAHA!!".
