I wasn't using ASSJ, I was simply pointing out that Swordsman has reason to name USSJ ASSJ. So I'm not a sheep

Who said life isn't a game?

Did you ever consider it might be a mistake or a GAME ONLY thing, Xyex?
Just because Dabura has a "Forces of Evil" or whatever attack in a game doesn't mean it exists in the anime or manga. Games aren't canon unless they're specifically referred to as such - for examples, the 4 .hack games take place inbetween .hack//SIGN and .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet and the events are constantly referred to in the other series and taken as fact.
The Budoukai games, on the other hand, while presenting interesting plots, are not canon unless it is directly referred to as such.

But B if you go by that theory, you can also say that the anime isn't canon either. Only the manga is true. They're just differing levels of canon. Just thought I'd point thatout since it's not the most stable argument to use.

Well, yes, you have a point there.
What I mean is, SSJ2 Trunks is canon in the games, but you should never mistake that as being anime or manga canon.
And yes, I suppose I can admit that GT is not technically manga canon. However, it is anime canon, no matter how much fanboys whine.

You should re-read what I said B. I mentioned it was game only and could have been a mistake. XP Also, I'm not referring to the manga or anime. We never see him after he defeats Cell so we have no way of knowing. However, we do see him in the games. And in those he does have SSJ2. That's a fact and there's no way around that. His reaching or not reaching that level during the manga/anime has no bearing what-so-ever on the matter that in the Budokai Games he is SSJ2.

Hm.. You're right, Xyex. I misread.
But Mike D is correct in the Trunks never reaches SSJ2 on screen, and you shouldn't believe everything the Budoukai games throw at you.
But you're right that he reaches SSJ2 in the games.
So, breakdown.
1) Trunks is shown reaching only as far as USS2 (I'm too tired to type out the full name, so bite me)
2) In the Budoukai games, Trunks can turn SSJ2
3) It is always possible that Trunks does reach SSJ2 after we see him.
4) However, this is purely fan speculation and shouldn't be taken as fact.
That should be about it.

Why even drag something as silly as the games into this? It's just another case of game developers showing either:
A) They know very little about the property
or
B) They were just too lazy to make proper transformations for Trunks.
Go ahead and take your pick.

Kodoshin, I choose C) on the game developers front, which is they chose to add it because they thought that it's something that would help sell the game.
But as was said before Trunks only ever acheives SSJ2 in the games, in the manga/anime he may of acheived it when he returned to his own time, but we'll never know as he hasn't been shown again.
Dark souls come dime a dozen, a truely pure soul is priceless, whilst a truely corrupted one is worthless.

How does failing to accurately represent a character help sell the game? The property alone is a license to print money.
I think Dimps was confounded about it because:
A) In the final stage of the transformation the speed loss being so major would probably make the form undesireable to use in the game, much like it was in the series.
B) By not including it they only had to do a "SSJ2" model (so that Trunks has something beyond SSJ to use) instead of having to do both stages of the USSJ.

Mizugi, that's really uncalled for. And it ceased to be funny the 104 th time round. Xyex was just making a point which does have some validity. It's attitudes like that that are really starting to get on my nerves here. There's been more and more of it lately and it's the reason I avoid places like MFG or Gamefaqs. But fine make this place like that too, I'm sure Mike will really appreciate it.

I apologize. I sometimes take jokes too far. I'm sorry.
I just really don't see the point in debating this any further. In the anime and manga, Trunks never reaches Super Saiyajin 2. The Budokai games give him an incorrect capsule. There's really not much more to say than that.

It's alright. I understand what you're saying. I'm just noticing people on here lately bashing a lot more and I just don't want this place to become like other message boards that make fun of people all the time and stuff.

That's the thing. It's not
exactly incorrect. As far as pre-existing cannon goes, ya, it's wrong. But hell, I never saw Cooler on Namek either. Or Metal Cooler on Earth by Trunks's time machine, or Hercule flying around in a jetpack either. But that's the point. The Budokai games take the Cannon, play with it some, and spit back out something a little different. Something where Hercule can convince Kid Buu or Vegeta to play an exploding gameboy, where Cell can use the Spirit Bomb, and Trunks can go SSJ2.

Hmm. Yes, the game are different. I see Trunks going to in the anime if he trained more. After the cell saga , nobody trained. Except goku, and vegeta.
In the game. I bet you can make them all go ssj2.

Ummm, I don't think Trunks had a "Super Saiyan 2" capsule in the first Budokai. I'm pretty sure had the "Super Trunks 1" & "Super Trunks 2" capsules. I might be wrong though, so feel free to correct me.
