The fourth one looks like "What's up? Like BBQ?".

I see "Damsel" in the first one.
The second one says "Tard." Abbreviation of retard/mustard?

I think it's just asking how you're doing, then asking if you like BBQ. Maybe whoever made that menu likes BBQ a lot?

It could probably also be "DAM_LBS", possibly meaning the maker of that menu has been gaining weight recently or something, and wants to lose the "damn" LBS/pounds...

Has something like this happened to anyone else who got the dragonboxes?
Yeah, my Dragon Box came with a slightly chipped case on the top. Pretty pissed about it but not going to take it back.

When I ordered the very first Dragon Box, one of the discs had a gouge of plastic missing, and it wouldn't play at a certain point. Amazon gave me a new one, no hassle.

Either that is indeed the case, or FUNimation's trolling us.

Given their tweet, I'm believing the former. :o
What tweet are you referring to?

I just went back through to February in FUNimation's Twitter feed, and saw nothing that said "Only two vols left".

Regardless of who said it, the fact that Dragon Box 6 hasn't actually been officially released yet (remember that it was technically delayed to a street date of July 19th) means that... well, yeah... there are two boxes left: 6 and 7.

Well that's on Box 6 right? So it would say 1 left if they weren't doing a Movie Box.

Oh, I misunderstood -- the way I read those previous posts, it sounded like someone from FUNimation tweeted out that there were only two boxes left. Now I see in a prior post that said text appears upside down in a menu present on box six.

I'd say that it's just a case of, "(counting this box right here), there are only two boxes left!" Not much to read into it.

This One:
Brad Redfield wrote:I would hold off for now since Funimation was asked about the Dragon Box movie stuff yesterday at ACEN and:
DragonBox Movies release information would come around the end of the releases...no details yet

http://twitter.com/#%21/search?q=%23ACenFUNi
Though now it looks like they took the tweet down...

They never directly announced it, but definitely hinted at it being a possibility. I also don't see why "two vols. left" would also include the one you already have. It'd be like getting all of the items or unlockables in a game, and after you get the second to last one saying "two items left to go!". Maybe some people do word it that way, but I've never heard it before.

Maybe it could be taken that way, but it could likely also be taken the other way, especially considering what FUNimation said.

If it was on the first disc, yes, I would understand that it probably meant, "Hey now, you're about to watch 1 set, and there's a new one coming out soon, so you have 2 left to watch." But it was on the last disc. I'd say it was more of a "Wasn't that a great set? Get ready for two more, coming soon!"
Also on the last disc of Box 4:
Image
"Only three vols left." That was also on the final disc of the set, and it was obviously referring to the next three upcoming boxes. They could just as easily have said "Only one vol left" on this set.
One can hope, right? :)

While there does seem to be a trend here, I have to come to Funimation's defense here at point out that they had absolutely no choice on the music change. That was all Toei's doing.
FUNimation didnt have to listen to Toei for once.

 Really? You're going to suggest that Funimation could choose to not listen to the company that they got the series from in the first place? How does that even make sense?

I doubt they want to get sued. Toei or not, it's still infringing music.

I don't get Toei. Yamamoto has been doing that for years with the Z moives and games.

Toei never really caught on until Kai. If they suspected Yamamoto's plagiarism and researched before Kai, I'm sure they would have done something about it. Or... not. We all know how Toei is.
So mondo lame.

That is absolutely no defense in a lawsuit. Toei could have been sued by multiple people with expensive lawyers had they given the OK to plagiarism.

I highly doubt FUNimation would do anything that stupid.
