What was wrong with DBZ Infinite World on the PS2?

I guess IW are for the gamers that are very good at the Budokai games, but not the casual ones like me who can't even get past the Saiyan saga.

You must upgrade the characters...... If you didn't bought more lives, power-ups or senzu, you really must be an insane gamer to beat the game.

I will admit that it was pretty cool visually, but the fact that it was just an over-glorified rock paper scissors match kind of made it unenjoyable.

I really wanted to like this game, but I couldn't figure out how to play it properly. I loved Budokai 3, but even in pvp multiplayer, it just seemed more limited (which apparently isn't true at all). Does anyone know a good teaching source such as a video tutorial or something I can read?
