I have a little theory about this. If the viewer is the same age or younger than a character they have a crush on, and they grow up with the characters, they seem to have this subconscious thing that the character they crush on is still the same or older than them. I personally had that with the Sailor Soldiers. I used to have to remember "Oh, wait, they're 14", when I tried to remember what age they were, because when I was watching the show, they seemed to be that much older than me.

So maybe that explains some of the people liking Pan and Bra?

It's a tricky subject alright. Generally, on the internet, the "rule" seems to be to go by appearance when fictional characters are the subject. One can't get around lusting over Etna by pointing out that she's over a thousand years old in the story, for example, and it would be a bit unfair to judge someone in the opposite situation as well. Of course, it would be more complicated if these were real people instead of characters. If someone looks underage, does that mean no one is ever allowed to be attracted to them? It's...a really messy subject.

Pan though... Pan's tiny in GT. She's basically the same size Chichi was when she was first introduced.



But Dragon Ball is very inconsistent with these things. And as you say, what if you had a crush on them when you were their age?

How would that even work? The dub seemed to think GT was ten years after Z (when in fact it was supposed to be five years), and that would only make Bra 13 or 15, depending on which of her two officially given birthdays you use. The dub would have to have changed when she was born, too.

Probably--although if you look at her closely, she's barely any bigger than Pan herself. I only give her a pass because Bulma was also kind of short the way Toriyama originally drew the comic...although that doesn't change the fact that Bra has no chest to speak of.
