Women voicing men, Tanaka's Kuririn, etc.

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Call me crazy, but I actually think Hebert's Gohan makes for believable older version of Nadolny's. Mind you, I'm mainly going by Nadolny's later performances of Kid Gohan, from 2002 onward, where her voice is mainly nasaly rather than raspy.

Funny story involving Young Krillin's voice. I actually DID think it was Sonny Strait all those years until I read that it was a different actor on here about 2 years ago. Just goes to show how good of a job Laurie Steele did.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

He's 17 or 18 at his first appearance, and yeah, he looks pretty much the same up until he grew out his moustache in the Boo arc. By 17 or 18, you basically are an adult, having grown into your adult body and voice.

Yeah, she does genuinely sound like a younger version of Strait's Kuririn. I don't know whether or not I'm just imagining this, but I think I heard that Strait did audition to play Kuririn as a child, but he was passed up for Steele.

I checked (hnng) the Dragon Ball wiki, which states that Yajirobe is one year older than Kuririn, who is one year older than Goku. His first appearence was in Age 753, and if they've got their years correct, that means that Goku was 16, Kuririn was 17 and Yajirobe was 18. So lots of late bloomers then. And Yajoribe does change physical appearence. He gets taller and his face fills out. I guess he's old enough when he's introduced to not change his voice (as oppossed to Kuririn and Goku, who were much younger at their first appearence.)

Yeah, Herms' age guide says that he's 18 (or, at least, he'd turn 18 in that year). Gokuu, at this point, would be 15, since he claimed that he was 12 three years prior at the last tournament (but he'd turn 16 that year).

And I didn't say that Yajirobe doesn't change physical appearance. Just that he didn't change much; at least, not as much as the others, like Gokuu and Kuririn. But he's still basically an adult there, albeit maybe a bit of a short one, but that shouldn't change anything.
