Believe it or not, this episode was in the original manga! I always loved the design of the rabbit henchmen...

You have encountered some filler already, but only short segments that "fluff out" the manga material, not entire episodes. There probably was some in episode 9, as I believe that was converted from just one manga chapter, while episode 4, as an example, was converted comfortably from two. They'd have to fluff that chapter out and make it into a whole episode because it's just such a stand-alone story. The story has progressed a bit in episode 9 though, because Yamcha has shown his face again now.

Gosh guys. Sorry for taking so long on this!

Episode 010: The Dragon Balls Are Stolen!!

Thoughts: FINALLY! Goku and Pilaf have met eachother. They didn't have an epic fight here, but hey, I expect it to happen soon. They're of course going after the last ball. Funny episode as well. May just be me, but I really like the animation here. Looks really good for 1986.

Predictions: The dragon is gonna come out. He's gonna do something that...hm. I don't think anyone gets their wish..I have no clue. What does Goku even want? Questions, questions, questions!

This really is the best thread on Kanzenshuu right now. Seeing the story through the eyes of someone who hasn't experienced it before is always a blast. I hope you'll stay hooked and go through the whole thing!

This brings back such good memories of the Manga Review of Awesomeness. I might start listening to it again.
Please, keep up watching the series. Back when I started watching it, I was around 11-12, I began with the 1st episode of Dragon Ball as well. I'd sit each day, monday through friday, to see the series, until Dragon Ball GT ended, when I was 16. There's such a magic on this series, and it only gets even more obvious when you watch it on japanese. I wish I could experience it all over again. But I'll do the next best thing, and follow your experience. I hope you get to see all of it! Good luck and enjoy!
Yes, Goku visited me once. He turned to me while I was still speechless, and said, "You've drank too much"...

Yeah this may be the best thread, it's real close between this and the Battle of Gods stuff. Really look forward to future insight.

This is just an apology for taking so dang long. SO without further ado...

Episode 11: At Long Last, the Dragon Appears!

Thoughts: The gang ain't too smart here. Honestly...not a lot of people in this series are smart! The arrow thing last episode...*facepalm* but hey, if they were smart, this show would be resolved quickly! Not a lot happened this episode EXCEPT for the big ol dragon being summoned! I figured Pilaf's castle would be like a boss level of a video game, and it kinda was! The pinball thing was neat, I must say. I'm honestly wondering if Pilaf gets his wish and something goes wrong..I don't see how Puar and Oolong can save the day.

Predictions: Pilaf asks for the wish, and um...well..I really DON'T know. I wish I had a good prediction. I'll say it doesn't pan out like he wants it to..

HAHAHAHAHA is all I can say to this episode.

Episode 12: The Wish To Shenlong

Thoughts: Again. Hilarious. Oolong wishing for panties is the greatest moment in the entire series. I know it. Nothing can match it. NOTHING. But in other things...Goku is a giant freakin monkey. Where DID that come from? I figured he was a human..but not too many humans have tails. But hey, I like it. Hopefully they can stop him! Because it would be sad to see the series just end with Goku on a rampage...

Predictions: Um...they stop Goku? But how? Knock him out? I feel like Kame-sennin is the only one stronger than Goku right now. Maybe Bulma goes to get him? But they have no transportation...maybe they team up with Pilaf. WHO KNOWS. NOT ME. Can't wait to finish the first arc.

Ahahaha! Great! With all of your talk wondering what the first wish will be, I was waiting for this moment! I'm glad you approve. Yeah, a truly great moment.

When I said I was excited, it was mostly because of you wondering how Pilaf was going to be stopped when he had the dragon right there. I knew you'd never guess Oolong would run up and wish for underwear before he could say anything, which is amazing :D

Episode 13: Goku's Great Transformation

Thoughts: Wooowzers. What a finish for the first arc. That giant monkey version of Goku seems like it could extremely difficult to stop. But alas, he doesn't have a tail, therefore we won't see it anymore...............? I have to put a question mark for pretty much anything after what happened with the wish..oh well. Interesting to see Goku head off with Kame-sennin. How can this kid get even stronger? Can Kame-sennin tame the beast?

Predictions: Goku is gonna get strong. Real strong. We'll see how it goes in the city for the rest of the gang. And as for Pilaf, well he's not dead, but I don't think we'll be seeing him again. But I could be wrong. But as for next episode, I'm headed to the 21st Tenka'ichi Budokai arc!
