Reading through this thread... I can't believe all the dislike for the Faulconer soundtrack and the dub in general.
I guess it's because the dub is the way I watched it initially, so I just feel like it is the "right" version for me. I'm watching through the SSJ2 Gohan fight w/ Cell right now on the Dragon Box, and the Japanese music just feels so LIFELESS. Like, when Gohan turns SSJ2, the music (or lack there-of at the end) just makes the transformation feel... boring. To me, the Faulconer soundtrack fits DBZ perfectly. All the hyped up action deserves some great guitar and orchestra in the background, not something I feel like I heard in an elevator or 80's aerobic dance class.
Now, I will say I enjoyed a few intros and the previous episode recap of the Japanese version, but overall the soundtrack of the Dub is far superior in my eyes.
As for the voice actors, I really enjoy both the English and Japanese. In a perfect world, I could listen to the Japanese voices w/ Faulconer music, but that won't happen. I think the dub is a little more enjoyable, just because like I said, I grew up with it, and I feel that overall the dub actors (Vegeta, Teen Gohan, and Trunks in particular) bring more energy to the show. The only thing wrong with it at times is the scripting, as some of the lines get extremely cheesy, but that can be said with just about any anime really..
I am still acclimating myself to this forum, and realizing that this is a forum for mainly Japanese Dragon Ball fans, so a lot of people around here will hate the dub and anything to do with the American version, but it's just a nostalgia thing for me I guess.
I will say though that DBGT is almost unwatchable for me in English. I have to watch it with subtitles because I watched it in Japanese first. The scripting in GT was just flat awful in the dub.
I suppose it really just comes down to how you watched it first.
What about the old dub did you like?

There are a lot of things I like about Funimations dub, it's just very hit-and-miss. Some of the actors like Sonny Strait and Chris Rager were very talented and fit the parts well, and I'll always prefer Faulconer's score over Kikuchi's, for what that's worth.
This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

There is one thing I thought the original dub did really well.
The Mr. Satan 'movie' thing during the 25th Budōkai, with the deliberately bad acting. That was hilarious.
