Also, the Buu arc goes on sale on Friday, so there will probably be videos for that, eventually.

Are we forgetting the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai? It goes from Demon Piccolo to the Saiyan Invasion...

These actually look pretty good, wouldn't mind picking these up if they're reasonably priced since I never did replace my original manga copies that were ruined in a flood... I did try looking for the original prints but have been unsuccessful.

They already did the 23rd TB back in July.
And it is great to hear that the Boo arc is finally being released. Now I just hope that Viz manages to do a complete print release of these.

So, the aura colors for all Super Saiyan forms are finally revealed! It's white for Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Grade 2, Super Saiyan Grade 3, and Super Saiyan Full Power, but yellow for Super Saiyan 2 & Super Saiyan 3.

^ Nice, I'm glad we don't get to lose the white aura!

I suspected that the aura could be white and become golden again when it's intense, due to Goku's first action as a Super Saiyan: he has white flames, yet when he rushes to Freezer the first time and knocks him down to the ground, you can see his rush aura becomes golden again during his impulse.

So my guess is that the Super Saiyan is likely white, but gets back to golden when pushed further in intensity (which is a constant in Super Saiyan 2 and more, effectively showing the real difference between the "Grades" forms and the actual next Super Saiyan step that makes the aura "gold intense" permanently).

To me, it looks like it changes color when dashing because it changes to the dashing aura.

It is hardly noticeable on the small preview here, but VERY noticeable with a decent-sized picture of the panel.
Would it be possible to get a close up of the offending area? I'm interested to see just how bad it is.

^ Sure, here's a better view (I hope the picture is big enough to clearly see).
It's not a disaster that messes up the whole pic, but still a detail that kind of jumps to your eyes when you first see the picture like "what the...?".
I don't know if it's only on the digital edition or if it appears on the print edition as well.

Image

If you ask me, it looks like the purple touches were supposed to be "under" the other colors - therefore not trespassing on the already-colored surrounding areas -, but were mistakenly placed "above" in the final mix.

Oh wow, that's pretty horrible.

You're right, that was definitely a layer in photoshop put in the wrong place. What a shame, I really hope that gets fixed.

Digital version, I'm surprised there's such an error at all!

Edit: Looks like the Boo saga(part 7) is up to Vegetto's appearance. Edit, looks like it was just a preview><

I'm looking to buy the digital versions but my CC is denied and they're saying it's because it's overseas, now I was able to purchase DBZ 1 through seiga.nicovideo but I'm looking to actually download these and amazon has kindle versions(I can make my own) I haven't tried yahoo bookstore jp as I'm sure it'll be the same result as the jump book store (denied both bank and CCs). I think Jump denied it because I couldn't link it to the states or they only accept Jp CCs, I can buy from amazon (as long as I'm linking my JP address) but I'm not really looking to buy mobile digital versions.

Anyone know if Yahoo will accept? I obviously don't want to just try everywhere(no Credit limit or anything) but don't want it to get suspended and it's early hrs, don't really want to say "hey buying stuff from JP every other hour or so" may buy the full saiyan ark or just buy everything through seiga.nicovideo but who want's to view it through a video? Quality wise it's the same everywhere else, but I'm looking forward to the printed version and hope Viz goes back and releases dragon ball later,

The MangaPolo hasn't started Cell arc yet... I hope they will begin this week both Cell & Boo arcs, since Boo arc was released yesterday.

^ I think they'll wait for their print releases, so that the videos can help promote them once they're available.

In the meantime, I was surprised earlier today when I saw the full-color panels in French shops!!

Here's the thing: the Full-Color Manga is not available here and will likely be announced only once the Perfect Edition (Kanzenban) reaches its end.
But some kid novels are available in the "Bibliothèque verte" ("Green Library") collection (ever since 2010 it seems), published by Hachette instead of the usual publisher Glénat.
And those novels use panels from the Full-Color Manga once ever few pages to illustrate the narration!

That was kind of a surprise as I didn't expect to be able to see the official Full-Color panels anytime soon in France, and certainly not before the arrival of the Full-Color Edition itself.
The novels don't use the same translator than the manga one for the narration itself, but do make the effort to use the exact terminology of the French Perfect Edition (Son Goku, Nyoi Bo, Kinto-Un, Dragon Balls...).

^ I take it as a "two birds, one stone" strategy. They'll wait for the print release so that publishing the daily videos will promote both and hopefully increase sells both with those interested in the digital edition and those interested in the print edition.

But we'll see, we have no proof of what they're planning or not, so we'd better keep an eye on their channel so that we don't miss the beginning of the Cell arc when it starts!

I haven't viewed the full color manga or this thread in its entirety, but how true do you guys feel that this release holds to the original colors in the kanzenban and volume covers? Like on a scale from 1 to 10. I know it has changed the color of Kame Sennin's house, but I'm not sure what else.

Someone well versed on both sides should do a comparison thread.

Overall, I feel as though it tries to hold true to Toriyama's vision, particularly early on (even switching the color of Goku's dōgi and Bulma's hair after the first chapter, just like in the manga). As it goes on, however (particularly getting into the Z era), it tries to consistently find and use the Toriyama color-schemes closest to those in the anime, even if Toriyama colored them differently on occasion.

This may be because earlier chapters were colored for the old Jumpland website from '03–06 (and even released for free back in '09), while stuff from around the Vegeta fight and later was undertaken more recently, and possibly by different people. There is a definite shift not far into the Saiyan arc where suddenly colors feel a lot more "layered" and less "flat", and the change in Kaiō's coloring around the same time may be further indication.

Hmm, that's interesting. Can you tell me what direction the Full Color edition went with Gohan's Saiyan arc outfit? I recall it being green in the kanzenban. Oh, and didn't they choose to color Karin as a white cat instead of blue?
