Wow i can't believe i never noticed until today!
Nice way to show Gohan becoming a earth protector like his father!

Except... he really doesn't... Damn Mystic Gohan being thrown in the bin for another "Gokuuuuuuu <3" moment!!!

You can raise me another "wow" on that one. But seriously, what a shame it is that Gohan actually didn't become the next true protector of earth. Such a dropped ball.

I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he - he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have. And the same can be said for Bugs Bunny and - and Superman and Harry Potter. They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.

That'd be hard to cut. I don't think they'll cut much out of this fight.

Will they cut the Ohterworld Tournament? On one hand, that's just one big sack of filler. On the other, doesn't Pikkon, along with some other fighters, appear in intertwined filler later, with Pure Buu?

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

DBZ Mick wrote:It just had so much more to it.

It had more stakes to it, it was a real fight to the death with the fate of the Earth at hand - Goku is completely broken by the end of it, Vegeta is a mangled mess, I think it was better structured- first the one on one fight between Goku and Vegeta, then everyone trying desperately to find a way to stop Oozaru Vegeta, then basically trying to make the best out of a hopeless situation.
I agree. Goku vs Vegeta fight during the Saiyan saga was one of the best fights in DBZ.

I might be late in the discussion, but at tge end of cell games of Kai, they give a preview of the next season showing scenes of Goku fighting Pikkon in other world. So there is some filler at least.
